Edd x Reader (One Shot)

When you look me in the eyes

You have been best friends with Edd, or better known as 'Double D' ever since you moved to Cul-de- sac since you were about six years old. You both had a lot in common, such personality wise. You are a polite girl who helps a lot. But when people bother you , well they have learned to keep quiet.

Anyway, right now you were crying at the school's official, School Dance. Why? Because Kevin asked you to go as his date, only to find him ditching you for Nazz. You had a little crush on Kevin (Sorry if you hate him, he's just gonna be your crush) you knew he liked her, but you tried it anyway.

"Oh Dear! (Y/n)! Are you alright?" a voice suddenly asked. and not just anybody's. It was your best friend, Double D. You looked up to see the concerned looking boy dressed in a suit, though keeping his signature hat on. You had to admit, he cleaned up nicely. Your cheeks tinted pink a little.

"Eddward, hi, I didn't see you." you only called him by his full name when something was wrong.

"Whatever maybe the matter?" he asked, taking a seat beside you. After explaining everything and you pointed them out dancing, he gave you a look of sympathy. He took out a tissue and gently dabbed at your slightly swollen eyes. He eyed you closely before re-composing himself and continued.

Suddenly an all familiar song came on, a slow song (Start song here). But not just any song, it happened to be 'When you look me in the eyes' by the Jonas Brothers. You blushed and looked away.

"Um, do you want to dance? I 'm no dancer, but I can give it a try..." He trailed, a nervous smile on his beet red face, fingering the collar of his shirt. You looked back at Kevin and Nazz, who were dancing to the soft beat before turning back to Edd.

"I'd love to, Double D." and gave a toothy grin. Him returning it, showing his adorable tooth gap. He stuck his hand out and you took it, guiding you to the dance floor. Perfect Timing.

You wrapped your arms around Double D's neck as he took hold of your waist. A little awkward but not much. It felt right.

'When you look me in the eyes, and tell me that you love me. Everything's alright, When you're right here by my side.'

At that moment you both looked into each other's eyes. (E/C) met blue/green instantly (as what I've read is his eye colour) Unaware of a curious redhead watching close by. As the song continued playing , you both maintained eye contact with one another. No one else was in the room but you, imagining the moment alone together. When did you start feeling for your best friend?

The song ended and you slowly let go of each other, both of you as red as tomato's. You both haven't even noticed Eddy and Ed in the corner sporting cheeky grins. They'll just have to tease you both later.

'Later~

"Thanks a lot , Double D, I had fun." You said as you walked up to your house.

"No problem, I'm glad I could be of service." He grinned. Something about his smile and blue/green orbs stirred something in your head. You leaned forward and placed a kiss upon Edd's cheek. His face flushed red as your lips lingered. You let go and gave him a sweet smile, cupping his cheek and saying...

"Good Night, Double D." you smiled before entering your house. Sighing before leaning against your door, smile still in tacked.

Edd stared at your door with wide eyes, comprehend what just happened before a grin stretched his lips. A dreamy expression on his face as he touched the cheek you kissed.

"So much better than disinfecting bathrooms at 6:00 in the morning." he murmured in that cute voice of his. (Ha! That sounds like something he would say. Idk, was it weird.

He started taking off to his house while humming the song looking at yours. Never once taking his eyes off it, though running into a few stop signs along the way. His grin never faltering in the least. Even when he slept he had that content smile.
