The crescent moon's white rays were shining through the dense leaves of Route 16's tall autumn trees. Sierra was snuggled in the crook of a comfortable tree branch with her rare Hoopa softly snoring in her arms. The crisp, cool wind pushed some of her long midnight black hair onto her face, but she swatted it away. Then the sound of faint footsteps could be heard on the nature trail. Sierra, having excellent hearing, jumped, almost forgetting Hoopa was still in her arms. It awoke, now a bit cranky, but wondering what was wrong.

She scanned the nearby branches and below them, shrubs. "Probably just a herd of Sawsbuck." "But maybe I should check it out, just in case..." She muttered.

Sierra sighed and turned to her levitating Hoopa, she yawned, "Okay Hoopa you know what to do."

As she flipped on her black hood, the magician Pokémon responded with an exited, "Hooo pa!" Sierra nodded and Hoopa raised it's little arms and the hoops around its horns levitated towards them became big enough for them. A purplish galaxy could be seen inside the hoop, which was the portal. The other small hoop, sped off in the direction of the path.

"Ready?" Sierra smiled at her Pokémon. Hoopa gave a happy smirk and they both stepped into the portal.
. . .

"Why do we have to walk through this spooky forest at night?" Mairin questioned, then Chespy shivered.

"Well we have to get the Laverre City sometime, we have a meeting planned with Steven to discuss that mysterious stone's disappearance, from when that Rayquaza attacked Kyogre and Groudon." He said flatly as they walked.

"And why don't we have a flashlight?" She asked, ignoring him. "Ooo could we use Charizard's tail?" She went on, eyes sparkling.

Alain was about to tell her to be quiet when he heard a faint call of a strange Pokémon.

He stopped and said, "Mairin be quiet for a minute."

While holding I finger to her mouth, he listened. The sound of tweeting Fletchings other forest Pokémon filled the air. Then a small hoop appeared above them, then enlarging, with a purplish galaxy could be seen inside. Alain and Mairin backed up to see a person in a dark cloak and some strange floating Pokémon come out of the big hoop.

"Who are you people?" The stranger immediately asked. Alain recognized it as a girl's voice.

"W-why? Are you going to attack us?" Mairin stuttered. A small smile could be seen on the stranger's face,

"Depends on your battling skills." She said, lifting her head and showing a pair of purple eyes that shined in the darkness.

"She doesn't have the Pokémon to fight, but I will." Alain replied, stepping in front of Mairin.

"Alright then, Let's Battle!" She proclaimed as she pointed a finger at him. They took the position of a single battle, Laverre City just behind the girl.

"Hoopa return." She said as the unfamiliar Pokémon gave one more smirk towards them before being brought back into its pokéball. Alain watched closely as she pulled back her cloak and her fingers brushed 6 different colored pokéballs. She selected a dark red one, with bold black lining. He gripped his Charizard's pokeball in his right hand, ready to throw.

"Well, ladies first." Alain said, and she said simply, "Then I hope you're ready to lose... "Go! Charizard!"

The girl then threw out the red Pokéball and a colorful aura surrounded the fire\flying type. Sparkles flashed around it as it called out an intimidating roar, spreading its charcoal black and blood red wings. . Alain's eyes widened as he realized it was in fact a shiny Charizard. Adding to that, around its head was a crown-like band holding a MegaStone. He regained his composure and threw his Charizard and it did a double take seeing the opponent's diverse coloring but still tried the intimidate with the same roar.
