The smell of dampness woke me up. The humidity in the air made my breathing harder. I slowly opened my eyes. The room was dark. I struggled but managed to stand up, the floor boards creaked putting my hands in front of me I walked slowly towards the nearest wall. It was cold and clammy, I shuffled along the wall, until I reached the light switch and turned it on. The light flickered and it gave a dull glow it didn't make much of a difference but now I could see shadows.
I turned slowly around to see where I was. A bed stared directly at me, not a regular bed though a bed of nails, sharp, steel iismall frightening individual nails. Seeing it made me shiver and also realize the thick burgundy red blood poring down the side of my back. Suddenly a rush of pain went through my body. I screamed! Then I heard a voice. Soft and gentle yet eerie. "come" it said softly, "Come here" it repeated. I followed the voice. The further I walked the heavier my footsteps became.
Cobwebs filled the old wooden skirting boards in the corners in the room, flies and bugs rotting in the old decrepit cobwebs. I felt like I was about to be a victim just like them. A short giggle from a little girl stopped me from going any further. "The mirror!" I heard the child shout. The light flickered. I was terrified. The pain in back became numb, no longer could I feel the horrible pain.
Closer and closer I got to the mirror, my heart beat faster every step I took. And then I saw A mirror, broken with an old rusty golden frame. I looked inside curious to see what or who was inside. With relief, I saw myself. Beautiful silky dark brown hair, the red stained blood on my white long dress. I looked down to see my shoes, and seeing bright red flats, with black pom pom balls on the toe. I raised my head to see the mirror again and saw it was not me. The girl stared back at me, her blonde hair with rosy red ribbons tying her sweet tangled hair in pig tails, her eyes were a piercing green and blood shot. A sweet and innocent laugh, she gave. Her giggle made a shiver down my spine. "Turn around" her whisper made me jump. I slowly made the decision to turn around. The light went out. My heart raced. My sight went blurry, or was it the fact that light just went out? I was scared. Then I saw it. A light. A stool, someone sitting and singing in the corner of the room. "La, la, la la, la" she sang. She held a light, it shun up on her face. Her eyes were dark and black. I turned back to look in the mirror and she repeated, "turn around". I turned fast to only see her frightening pale face less than an inch close to mine. I let of a scream. Gone.
The small dust particles on the floor blew in the small breeze from the mirror on the wall.
