I was sitting all alone on the deck at this lakeside party. My friends wanted me to go so I could foget about my parents fighting. Once, we got here, they left me to hang with some guys. What nice friends they are. I tried to walk around the party and have fun but this just isn't me. I ended up sitting here at the deck, all alone, in the dark. I feel a bit chilly considering I am only wearing a short sleeve shirt and ripped skinny jeans, I also didn't bring a jacket. I hear someone scream, "YOLO!" Then splash in the water. I turned my head, seeing some dumb guys jump into the freezing lake. I roll my eyes, turning away. One guy swims over to me, the only thing I notice is his icy blue eyes staring at me.
"Why is a beautiful girl like you sitting all alone?" He flirts. He pushes himself up, out of the water and down next to me. The droplets from his soaked body drips down, making me wet. The only thing I can see is his bright blue eyes. It was dark near the deck, there was only a small light so I couldn't see anything but his eyes.
I shurg, "My friends left me. I'm not really the party type so here I am." I say softly. I look down at me hands, suddenly finding them interesting. There was a sudden breeze again, making me shiver. I wonder how thus guy feels, he was soaking wet. I noticed I never got his name. "Hey, what's your name?" I ask him.
"I'm Louis, You?" He asks, looking into my eyes.
"I-I'm Mary." I stutter. Right now I am freezing cold, I regret not bringing a jacket.
"Are you cold, Love?" Louis asks me. I smile and blush when he called me 'love'. No one has ever called me 'love' before. I nod, looking up at him. "I have a jacket over there." He points over to the party. "I can go get it for you."
I shake my head, "You need it more than me, Louis."
"It's okay, I'll go get it." He stands up, walking towards the party before I can protest. I sigh, thinking about hot nice he is being to a stranger. Finally something nice happens to me in my life. He comes back a little while later, handing me his jacket. I put it on and instantly feel warmer.
"Thanks, Louis." I say, he smiles at me, showing off his pearly white teeth. "This is one of the nicest things someone has done for me."
"Wow, you must have a rough life." He chuckles. I know he didn't mean anything when he said that but I started crying. "Mary, what's wrong?" I shake my head, not wantint to answer. He pulls me in for a hug, comforting me. I feel secure in his arms as he rubs my back. "Mary, Love, don't bottle up everything. Tell me."
I had a weird feeling that I can trust him. "Well, my parents have been fighting recently. I don't know what to do. I don't even know why they fight. In school, I bully this one girl, I feel so bad doing that to her but I can't help ot. Whenever I get home, this one boy would text me saying 'Hot or Not' and he would always say not. It kills me everyday, I try to prove him wrong. No one talks to me in school because my 'group' is mean to them. I feel so bad but I couldn't stop because then, I will be the one getting bullied." In the end I just cry on Louis' chest.
"Mary, Mary. It's going to be okay." He whispers in my ear. I finally stop crying. I wipe my tears off of my face with Louis' jacket. I hear footsteps walking around us, Louis hears them too because we both turn seeing two other guys around my age. "Who's that?" I whisper to Louis. He shakes his head, putting his arm around me.
"Hey there Louis! You got a girl? Here, let me take her from you." One of the two boys slurs. It was kind of obvious that they were drunk and high. These are one of the reasons why I don't like to party; teens are getting drunk at an early age. Louis's grip around me tightens as the boy walks up to us. "She's a pretty girl, don't be selfish, share." The boys says creepily. I stare at him in shock.
"Just leave Brandon, now's not the time. I bet there are many other girls at this party you can toy with." Louis says calmly but sternly. The guy nods and walks away, dragging the other boy with him. I raise an eyebrow at Louis, questioning what happened. He just shrugged, brushing it off. "Those guys are my friends, they are much more civil when they aren't high or drunk." We laugh, thinking about what people are like wen they are high. His hand brishes against my hair, he touches it, twirling a strand around his finger. "You have soft hair, Mary."
"Thanks?" I say in more of a question.
"That was a compliment, love." He moves until he is right behind me, he starts brishing my hair and playing with it. "Can you teach me how to braid?"
I nod, "So first you need to seperate me hair into three equal parts. Take the right sectiona dn cross it over the middle section. The take the left section and cross it over the middle section. That's pretty much it, now just repeat it again and again until you get to the end." My head is pretty long so I can turn around and watch him braid my hair. He is focusing on my hair while biting his lip. To be honest, he looked pretty hot. "Are you done?" I ask him.
"Yeah, almost . Do you have a hair tie?" He asks. I lift up my wrist and snap the hairband on my wrist. "Okay good, I think this is a master piece so I want to keep it." I giigle, finding it funny. He reaches for my wrist, taking the hairband off. He ties up the braid and shows me it. I looked down at it and nod my head, pretty impressed by the braid.
"You are right, it is a master piece." I laugh. I lay me head on his shoulder, him putting his arm around me. He pulls me close, so close I can hear his heartbeat. Everything right now just feels right. "Thanks Louis."
"For what?" He asked, confused.
"Thanks for being here with me instead of hanging out with your friends at the party. Thanks for tonight." I say softly. He sighs, taking his hand in his.
"Mary, have you ever had a boyfriend?" He asks me.
I shake my head, "No, have you ever had a girlfriend?"
"Yeah, we just broke up after I found out she was cheating on me with her bestfriend." He says, pain clearly in his voice. I hug him tightly. "Mary, do you ever plan on getting a boyfriend?"
"Yeah, just when I'm 18. I want to wait and be with the right guy before jumping into a relationship." I answer.
"How old are you?" He asks.
"Fourteent, how about you?" I say.
"I'm fifteen." He says. "Can I have your number?"
I nod, feeling like I can trust him. We switched phones, I put my contact in as MARY(: He gives me back my phone and I smile at the contact name BooBear<3 "BooBear? What's that supposed to be?"
He shrugs." I made that up just now, it's a special name only you can call me."
"Awwww, I feel special!" I joke around. I smile at him. I can't get hjis blu eyes out of my mid. There were just so beautiful.
"I like your eyes." I blurt out. I instantly cover my mouth with my hand after I said it, feeling embarassed.
He laughs. "I like your eyes too. It is beautiful, just like you." Oh this guy knows how to make a girls heart flutter/ I blush and hide my face behind my hair, not wantinghim to see. "Don't hide your beautiful face, love." He reaches his hand and puts my hair behind my ear. We stare into each others eyes for etenity until he starts to lean in. I freak out on the inside, never experiencing my first kiss yet. We were a centimeter apart when my phone rang. I look at Louis, embarassed by our interuption. Louis looked dissapointed but he put on a smile.
"Hello." I say into the phone.
"Mary, we need to go home now." My friend, Lian, says.
"Okay, I'll be there in a moment." We hang up. "Louis, I'm sorry but I have to go." I stand up pulling him into a long hug, inhaling hiis cologne. I pull away and run towards the entrance of the party. I met up with Lian, getting into the car that her sister was driving.
"Who's jacket is that?" Lian asks. I looked at her confused at what she was talking about then looked down at my jacket,
"Oh this is Louis', he is a nice guy I met at the party." I answer. Liam wiggles her eyebrows while I just shake my head, smiling. "Nothing happened." I say.
Nothing happened because you stopped something about to happen.
