The Greenie

A/N Hey hope you like this story which is kind of an AU ( Alternate Universe ) of THE MAZE RUNNER series

CHAPTER 1

Newt's POV

I was woken up by this intense machine-like sound that surrounded me . Where was I ? Who am I ? curiosity hit me . The only the thing I could remember was my name "NEWT" popped into my mind but it didn't feel right . Newt isn't my real name , but that was the only thing I had NO MEMORIES , NO PARENTS ,NO FRIENDS . How was that possible ? I thought .I felt a rush of adrenaline through my body . I looked around and found a number of supplies stacked in this elevator - box like mess .

The box thingy opened , the sun rays made me squint . It took a minute or so to adjust my eyes and suddenly a girl jumps into the box . She is not quite tall , had short black hair I heard her whisper " It's a boy " . I looked around and saw a number of girls staring at me , murmuring " a boy ? " , My heart started beating faster .The girl who was in front of me put forward a hand and said " Welcome to the GLADE . The name's Jade , greenie " and helped me  get on my feet .

The first thing I notice are these huge walls like a barrier or something . I panicked , I started running as fast I can until I tripped over a rock . I hear people calling me a " RUNNER " who knows what's that . A girl stepped in front of me not the same one  , and she helped me get back on my feet and said " Hey there , my name is Nina and basically I'm the one in charge here , Boy I know there must be a lot of things going on in there " pointing to my brain . " I will take you on the tour tomorrow till then I want you to keep shut and get a good night's sleep " and she turned away talking to a much younger girl and pointing at me . She returned and said " Prim here will be taking care of you " The little girl waved in excitement .

I hear footsteps behind me ,I turn and see the same girl Jade , the first thing I see is that she's got a limp . Jade seemed to notice me and put up a smile and walked away with Nina .The little girl spoke up " Shall we ? " Prim and I walk together for some time , in an awkward silence , and  then I speak up looking at the open door " What is that ?'' I muttered . "We must not go into that " she said politely . I spoke up a bit louder than before " Why , what the bloody hell is out there " . She spills out the word " The maze ! Oh ! I shouldn't have told you that.." I replied " A maze ... why are we here Prim'' I asked her . She just left us in silence . After sometime she told me " Tomorrow's the tour with Nina you can ask her how many questions you want " . I see a tall girl followed by a few other girls come out of the maze door thing . I questioned Prim " I thought no one should go out there ? " . " I said we not them , they are special , they're the runners '' Prim replied .

Soon the muscular , tall girl walked towards us she asked Prim " What a boy ?!? Ther must be something shucking wrong with the box anyways Prim how does it feel to be promoted ?"

" Feels great " Prim replied . Then I realize maybe they are trying to solve the maze . Its soon the evening and I feel the land shake a little and notice the doors are closing . Its soon time for dinner , I met Fieke the cook of the GLADE . A bonfire was set up to celebrate the arrival of the greenie which at the current moment is me . I sit down in the corner drinking one of Fieke's '' greenie special '' which tasted bloody brilliant . I am then accompanied by Jade who walks over to me . " A puzzling day , huh " she said . ''Yeah " was all I could say . I heard a loud voice which said " Okay that's it for the night , G'night gladers'' Nina said . Prim escorted me to my bed , not exactly a bed but it was good to get some sleep .
