Chapter 1 - Burnt Pie.

Rainbow Dash's POV:

I was on my way to Twilight's castle because I wanted to borrow some Daring Doo books. Apparently she has the whole series, lucky.

Anyway, back to the story. I was on my way to Twilight's castle when suddenly I heard an explosion.

KABLOOEY!!

I jumped out of my cyan fur, not really expecting the loud noise. I heard screams and cries, when suddenly a pony jumped on me.

Nyx's POV:

I shook my head to get some of the burnt marks out of my dark green mane once I accidently jumped on a pony. I realized it was Rainbow Dash.

'Hehe, sorry Rainbow.'

'GET OFF ME!'

'Jeez, I said sorry.'

'What's with the screams and running?'

'THERE'S BEEN AN EXPLOSION!'

I saw Rainbow gulp, she was obviously scared.

'Are you scared?'

'What? Me? Scared? No way! I'm Rainbow Dash! The toughest and bravest pony in the whole of Equestria!'

I raised an eyebrow.

'Well...Maybe not the WHOLE of Equestria...'

'THERE'S PONIES BEEN INJURED! I WAS JUST ON MY WAY TO THE HOSPITAL! I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS DASH!'

'Wait...who?'

'I couldn't tell.'

'Just tell me the whole story...'

'Okay! It started off when me and Pinkie Pie was just walking across Ponyville. Once we went past Sugarcube Corner, there was a giant explosion which nearly burst my ear drums! After that, I ran for the hospital, but I wasn't sure where Pinkie was.'

'SO YOU JUST LEFT AND DIDN'T EVEN GO LOOK FOR HER?! DUDE, THAT'S SO UNCOOL!'

'Well jeez Da-Wait, do you have a crush on her??'

I saw her turn bright red. Yeah, I'm sure she does.

'What?! No I don't! She's...um...just a really good friend!'

I rolled my eyes at her.

'Just let me go to the hospital! You go check the crime scene out if you really want to Miss. Sherlock.'

Rainbow Dash's POV:

That was SO 20% less cool of Nyx to just leave like that. What if Pinkie was injured? I started trembling at the thought, nearly knocking me over like I had no bones. I felt dizzy. Yes. I had to check the scene out. Anyone of my friends could be there!

I flew over to Sugarcube Corner. Fire spread everywhere, covering the trees and the bakery that looked like it was made of yummy treats and sweets. I remember when I was a foal I tried to eat it. I was so embarrassed.

I looked around the circus of injured ponies which were lying there, screaming and crying. I wanted to help them all, but friends come first. I looked around even more, seeing a bright pink pony, with balloons on her flank, laying unconscious on the sidewalk. I panicked and flew down at her.

'PINKIE!' I cried. I panicked even more. My heart felt like it stopped beating, and my lungs felt dry. I need to help her, I thought, picking her up and zooming straight to the hospital.

The doctor took her into a spare hospital room, coming out saying he has good news and bad news. I shivered.

'The good news is that she's alive!'

I sighed in relief.

'The bad news it, She has broken some bones and may need to stay in the hospital for a few weeks.'

It was that one sentence I felt like I shriveled into a raisin. My bones felt like thy were cracked and my brain felt numb.

'D-Doctor?'

'Yes Rainbow Dash?'

'Can I go see her?'

The doctor nodded, saying to be very quiet and careful. I promised him. I pinkie promised him. He showed me to the small room she was being held in. I walked over to her. I was scared. I was worried. She could die at any minute. I watched her sleep (A/N: Yeah that sounds creepy XD). Her fluffy, bouncy mane was now straight like a pink waterfall, covering one of her closed eyes. I looked at her heartbeat on a tiny screen next to her, I sighed calmly. A normal heartbeat. I went out of the room, telling the doctor that I would return the next day. I had a gift I wanted to give her a long time ago, I hoped she would like it when I was going to give it on her birthday, but I was to scared in case she didn't.

I just hope she was okay...
