I was prepared to make my leave from the creatures home.
He grabbed my hand and said, "Please stay. I do not wish to be alone."
"Why do you not want to be alone, dear creature?" I ask him turning around to face him.
He smiled sadly and replied, "Because I am afraid of awaits me in my dreams. Like you stated, I am a creature. No one gives me the chance to show that I can be just like them. They count me out because I can be anyone I want in a blink of an eye. They say being a changling is a sin and I'll end up going to hell."
I look at him with sad eyes knowing that if I were to look at with pity, it would make things worse for him.
I ask him another question, "What's in it for me? What shall I obtain if I were to stay?"
He looked at me with hopeful eyes, "My heart for eternity for you gave me a chance to show the real me." He simply said.
I took his face into my hands and told him, "I will stay with you. Even when you get sick of me, I will continue to stay with you. I will chase those demons away with my light to keep you happy.... I love you."
"I love you, too." He said taking me in his arms holding me close.
