The mind. It's a strange thing. It has many different functions and gives you many different emotions. And one of the most increased emotions, is depression. When most people hear the word depression, or that someone is depressed, they usually assume that it's just attention seeking, or a self-inflicted emotion. It's not. It's something that gradually creeps up on you, or in some cases, pounces on you all at once.
When it sneaks up on you, it is hard to recognise the symptoms at first, but eventually it becomes clear, maybe to yourself, or a loved one. However, in some cases, it's too late. The depression has taken over the mind, and is causing you to do many things, one of those could include Self-harming.
To many, this is a terrifying concept to understand, but to thousands, it is an everyday coping method. People get judged and excluded for their way of coping. This just causes them to do it more. But this is what some people need to realise. That their actions speak very loudly, and affect many.
