Chapter 3
My mom and I walked into the church at 8:00 am for the morning service.
I looked around for an empty seat. The church was packed and the only open seats were next to Diane and her mother. I looked trying very hard to find a seat, but my mom walked over to sit by Diane.
As I sat down, Diane looked at me with a smirk. I just ignored it and tried concentrating on the service. It was the longest service I'd been through.
After church I went into the dining hall to grab a donut. Diane caught up with me though and tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to face her.
"Why are you getting a donut? You definately don't need the extra calories," she told me.
I just walked away grabbed my donut and sat down with my mom.
"Diane seems like a sweet girl. Her mother told me about her party she's having next weekend. She told me to bring you. Sounds like it will be fun!" My mom told me.
I just rolled my eyes and sighed.
