As I awoke from my coma, I was hit with a wave of pain. The room was so bright I felt like closing my eyes and sleep forever but I fought the urge. When I finally adjusted my eyes I saw that my mom was in the room and Ellie but no sign of Madelyn, my older sister. My mom quickly got out of her chair and was hugging me tight. I groaned in pain so she loosened her grip of me just a little. Finally she let go of me but was attacked with another hug from my sister, Ellie. She had dark under eye circles as well as my mom. She asked,"how are you feeling?" "like a truck just ran me over" I replied. Even though I was just joking she punched he on the arm but it didn't hurt that much. Then my mom was scolding me but in a worried way. She said,"you should be more careful and always wear a helmet when riding your bike," she said it like the helmet would protect me from a gigantic truck.

Later on there was a knock on the door and it was the nurse. She said that I would be able to get out of here in two weeks and that I was really lucky that I survived. I was even surprised that I made it cause I broke my leg and my left arm. When the nurse left the room I asked my mom where Madelyn was and she just stayed quiet so I didn't ask again. She said,"I'm so sorry Eli. Today was supposed to be perfect. We were supposed to go to New York. I'm so sorry." I felt bad cause she looked so sad a and stressed. "Its okay mom. There's always next time." I replied even though I was lying to her and myself. My eyelids felt heavy so I fell asleep again twice that day.

The next time I woke up, everything was the same except that Skyler was in the room too with a pile of balloons that read get well soon. She looked worried but of course she was I was her best friend. We had known each other since we were seven. When she noticed that I was awake she set the balloons aside and gave me a hug. "Don't ever do that again, you scared the shit out of me," she yelled. I laughed a little but regretted it as soon as the pain came.

Finally when I got to go back home I felt better but I had to use crunches. It was hard to get used to them but soon enough I got better at walking with them. I had missed 3 weeks of school so I had to catch up but with the help of Skyler and Luke I caught up fast.

Finally when I didn't need my crunches any more I was going to the park to meet up with my friends. As I walked outside I saw that we had mail so I got it and put it inside. I was about to leave until something caught my eye. It was a letter that said "test results are in" and the last part read Mary Porter, my mother.
