Scarlett lets her bookbag fall down onto the floor beside her bed, "What was with those kids at school today? Those twins where one is way too friendly and the other way too rude, and then that girl with the bad girl attitude, her mood was like a rollercoaster all day." She lets out a sigh, "And the worst part is I have one or the other, or all three in each of my classes, I'm never going to get a break this year." She groans plopping down on the bed her face burried in the pillow. "I liked it better when I was practically invisible.", she says her voice muffled, as she then continues to lay there.
Out of nowhere, breaking the silence, the door bell rings. "Who could that be?", Scarlett wonders out loud as she picks herself up from the bed, "No one ever stops by." She leaves her bedroom and heads to the front door, "Who is it?", she calls out before opening it.
"Oh we got the right house." A familiar voice speaks. "Great." Another familiar voice responds sarcastically.
'No.... it couldn't be.' Scarlett thinks to herself as she hesitantly reaches for the door's handle. As she opens it, she is face-to-face with Azrael and Azazel. "What are you doing here?", she asks in a voice that shows both annoyance and shock.
Azazel rolls his eyes. "THIS one decided we had to buy you a new phone and bring it to you.", he says glaring at Azrael.
"I told you, it was the right thing to do considering we should've been paying attention.", Azrael responds in a soft voice.
"She was the one who bumped into us.", Azazel argues irritation clear in his tone. "We're always talking to one another instead of watching where we're going.", Azrael continues to dispute keeping his voice calm.
The two go back and forth as if they were alone when finally Scarlett intervines, "Excuse me, if I can have any say in this, you don't have to give me anything, I'd prefer if you didn't, and just went home and did not bother me anymore."
Azrael looks at her for a moment as Azazel crosses his arms looking away. "Told you so." He mumbles barely audible. Azrael sighs defeatedly, "Alright, I'll go for now but I'm leaving this here for you." He says placing the small box with the phone on the floor by her feet.
They turn away to leave and Azrael looks over his shoulder at Scarlett, "Oh and just so you know, I won't stop trying to change your mind about those tutor sessions." He flashes her a smile as the two of them walk off.
Scarlett stands in the doorway still a bit surprised at what just happend. She looks down at the box in front of her. "I guess there's no getting through to that one, why does he have to be so persistent?", she whines as she picks up the box.
'I really think I prefer the rude twin over the nice one, then again, it was pretty nice of him to do that.", she thinks to herself as she walks back to her room. She shakes her head, 'No, he's probably just trying to pull something on me, no one talks to me unless they're trying to embarrass me.' She tosses the boxed phone on her desk not opening it, 'Whatever, I wish they'd just go away.'
'I need some me time to just relax.', she thinks to herself as she sits on her bed, putting on her music and zoning out from the world. After a while, there is a knock on Scarlett's door and when she opens it there is no one there, just a tray with a bowl of hot ramen.
'That's Aunt Giina for you, doesn't show her face all day and can't even have dinner together.' Scarlett sighs picking up the tray and bringing it over to her desk beside the window as she begins eating.
A crack of thunder is faintly heard in the distance and Scarlett looks up through the window. "That's really weird... the sky is clear except for that one dark cloud..."
~ Meanwhile ~
On the other side of town in a house beneath the dark cloud, Kitsune kneels before what appears to be a pot of water. She traces her index finger along the brim as she speaks in what sounds like ancient latin.
