A/N: So, apparently I'm not leaving! Yay! I didn't want to go anyway. So here's the update.
-----------------------------------------------------------
*Tobys POV*
"He said to meet him at the coffee shop on the corner." I told my mom.
"That one?" She asked as we stopped at a red light.
I saw Vince sitting at a table outside. I smiled. "Yeah."
I saw my mom smile. I think this is the happiest I've been in a while. We pulled into the parking lot and I got out of the car before she even turned it off.
"Vince!"
He looked up. "Toby!" He stood up and I ran to him.
We hugged and I couldn't help but pick him up. "I don't think I can go another four months without seeing you." I said.
"You have no idea how much I have missed hearing your voice." He told me.
My mom finally caught up. "It's good to see you, Vince." She smiled.
"You to, Mrs. Nelson."
"Are we staying here for coffee?" Mom asked.
*Vince's POV*
As soon as she asked, I saw Mark and the football team walking up the street.
"Uh, no, let's go for a walk." I smiled to hide my uneasiness.
I hoped Toby didn't see this. The only person who knows I'm gay at this school is Maria, and if Mark found out things would get a lot worse.
*Toby's POV*
Vince seems uneasy. I wonder what happened. I saw a group of guys walking up the the coffee shop.
"Vince, how's your face? No bruising I see, maybe next time I should throw the ball harder." The one leading the group says as they all laugh.
I look at Vince who's looking at the ground.
"What did you just say?" I walked up to them.
"Aw, Vince is this your boyfriend? I knew he was gay."
"So what if I am." I saw the football in one of their hands. "You guys think that just because you're on the football team that you can pick on who ever you want? Trust me, I've been down that road and it does not end well." I went to walk away but the asshole who called Vince out grabbed my arm.
I ripped my arm away. "Don't touch me unless you want the shit beat out of you."
"Toby, it's fine, let's just go." Vince said.
"No, if he wants to try and show off for his team than he needs to step up."
The guy held both his hands up. "Whoa, dude, calm down it was a joke."
"Tell that to my boyfriends nose, asshole." I grabbed Vince's hand and walked away. I totally forgot my mom was there. I felt like an awful son but she understands how much he means to me.
We all just walked in silence, Vince's hand in mine. I just hope my dad doesn't figure out that I'll be here all Spring Break and not with Kyle at his summer house in Cali.
