The boat swayed back and forth, guided by the waves as passengers leaned over the edge taking pictures and laughing.

I stood silently, barely noticed by anyone on the ship, my hands clenched, white in the biting cold. My short brown hair swayed, whipping at my slightly red face. Men and women passed by disregarding me, since I was so small. I clung to the white dress of my aunt.

"Oh ! There you are Aria!" She smiled and bent down.

"Are you cold?"

I looked down at the floor for the words to say.

"Mmhmm" I nod. She sighed as she lifted me into her arms. My small pinks dress clung to my sides as the wind howled more fiercely. She hugged me tighter.

I held the blue ribbon tied in my hair and motioned to it with a small finger.

"It's gonna fall!" I cried as my aunt tried to re-adjust the ribbon in my hair.

The dark figure of a city stood ahead. My aunt gasped, and turned to me with an excited smile.

"Look Ari! London!!!". I clapped happily as the city approached and the boat began to slow, trailing the waves behind us.

------------------

I followed curiously behind my aunt, still making sure the ribbon was in my hair. I stared in awe at the buildings that towered over me. I felt slightly helpless, being so small, but the feeling melted away the deeper in we walked. My aunt looked in at a glimmering store window where mannequins stood lined with long flowing dresses. She turned to me and bent down so we stared at each other.

"I'm going in the store, you can walk around but only where I can see you, I'll be right by this window" she explained, pointing a French manicured nail at the shop window.

I knew that my aunt would be worried anyway but I wouldn't go too far off, like I promised myself. I looked across the street and back to the window. Walking a few steps to the side of shop I turned into the brightly light alley where small shrubs and flowers grew in the dirt. I walked around some more with my hands splayed out, a smile on my face.

Suddenly something bumped into me, making me cry out in alarm. I looked down at the small boy who lay on the ground before me. My eyes grew wide as I scrambled to pull him up.

"I'm sorry!!!" I squeaked shyly. He seemed about the same age as me, maybe older. He opened his eyes and smiled brightly. His eyes were a deep emerald green that seemed to glow in the light. He had short blonde hair that shifted in the wind and a happy smile that made me feel happy too.

"It's okay" he grins taking my outstretched hand. I pull him up with one quick try and he smacks off the bits of dirt and pebbles on his shirt and pants. Smiling meekly I apologize again only to get a happy, adoring smile in return.

I stare curiously into his eyes, smiling.

"What's your name?" I say blushing a little. He stares at me and smiles.

"Arthur Kirkland. What about you?"

I turned around and looked at the small bluebells growing on the edge of the shop. He walked up next to me awaiting an answer. I look up at him and smile.
