Everyone hated losing someone. The pain of regret and lost was what everyone hated. Especially for Nakamori Aoko, whose heart was a fragile one.

The moment when Kaito came to her house wearing KID's costume was a surprise. She thought it was one of his pranks, and laughed it off. "Aoko, I'm serious." He said to her. Aoko turned around, was he serious? Kaito is never serious.

"What proof do you have?" He took a jewel from his pocket. He held in his hands for a good five minutes, thinking that the action he was about to do is a good decision, but then she has to know. Her eyes widened when the jewel that was said to be stealed by KID was being held by the hands of her childhood friend. Aoko's gaping and she shook her head several times, muttering the word 'it's not true' under her breath.

"Aoko, I'm sorry." She covered her ears, her eyes were shut close. She hid herself from the world and it's truth. The truth was not always a good experience.

Kaito placed his hands on Aoko's arms. He tried making her look up to meet his eyes, but she was persistent. He let her go, but never has he given up and he won't now. Leaving a small note, he jumped out of the girl's room and glided down to his room, that is just across.

When Nakamori opened her eyes, the white paper came into her view. She took the paper and her hands trembled.

Aoko. Please come to the place where we first met tomorrow noon. I will be waiting. And I won't leave until you came.

黒羽快斗

That been said, she fell to her bed. Tears was threatening to fall from her sapphire eyes but she held it. Because she knew, she'll be needing the tears for tomorrow. Without knowing what will happen, it's better if she came there prepared.

That night, Aoko was crying internally. She's tearing herself apart by doing so. She knew that, and well she didn't care. She'll be doing that later so why not starting it sooner?

As the letter said, Kaito waited for Aoko in front of the giant clock. The bell rang twelve times telling the whole city it was noon. Kaito leaned against a tree, hoping for Aoko's arrival. He didn't care when she would come, at least she would show up, even when she would show up the day after, he didn't care. He'll wait for her. Maybe for the last time.

As the clock entered the first minute, Aoko came. He was surprised, he was happy, he was scared, and yet his face was covered by his usual pokerface. "Aoko." He said her name happily. Yeah, he should just be happy now. Because now might be the last time he could call her name.

"Why did you call me, Kuroba?" Kaito flinched upon hearing her calling his surname. But again, his pokerface hides everything. Still he smiled, because he could still hear her calling a part of his name

"Ano..." He ruffled his brown messy hair thinking of the words he's going speak. Equations is always easier than words, especially words for her. "I don't need you to forgive me. I just want you to understand. I did this for my father and to stop bad guys for earning power. I needed to do this, because I'm the only one that can."

Aoko look up, meeting his eyes, she asked, "Why?" She took hold of Kaito's dark blue shirt. She clenched it to hold the tears but it won't do. "Why would you hide that from Aoko? You always kept everything for yourself! Burden, sadness, trouble. You shared happiness... so why wouldn't you share those burden you kept!?"

Everyone was staring at them, and yet not even Kaito cared. Let them watch, they'll be the evidence of their might-be-the-last-time fight. Kaito pulled her into a warm hug. Her shouts turned into whispers, "Why would you steal? Even if those were the reasons it is never a good thing to do."
