“...and this is your room.” Selena finished, then turned and left. She had been showing me around, briskly listing brief facts about me. I revised them in my head;
My name was Aaliyah Akashi.
I lived in a secret location, somewhere in the Alps.
I was English.
And finally, that I was forgotten. It sounds so strange, that I was forgotten. But I felt like a no-body, like I was in somebody else’s body. A stranger. The people I should recognize were unfamiliar, looking at me coldly without recollection or recognition. I felt like a dust mite, quietly floating away, unnoticed. Not only did others not know me, neither did I. Who was I? I scolded myself-
My name was Aaliyah Akashi.

My room was imposing to say the very least.
It was a bright white, with those long lights with reflecting mirrors inside, that shine a blinding light downwards. However, they were needed, as the four square walls beheld no windows. When the lights were switched off, only the thin shaft of light shone into the room, everything else made invisible. Like a prison perhaps.
It felt also a little like a spaceship. One metal rimmed single bed slotted into the corner at a perfect right angle, and opposite, a metal podium with a transparent square of glass placed at the top. It had different sized silver hoops embedded into it, like a see through keyboard. The modernized podium looked almost extra-terrestrial.
There was only one other door in the room, of which I presumed led to the bathroom. I took the small handle into my grip and turned until I heard a ‘click’ and the white door swung open. I looked straight up into Noah’s eyes and jumped.
“Wha-” I began, but his strong hand clasped over my mouth and he pushed me back into my room, then up against the far wall. He looked at me, as if assessing that I was okay.
“Aaliyah, I know you remember. What happened on that last mission that I should know about? You know this rooms sound proof, and you can always trust me.”
He looked at me levelly in the eye, as if trying to force information out of me. Information that wasn't there.
“Mission?” I was completely baffled.
“Oh please, as If you don’t know.”
I looked up at him through my thick black eyelashes. My appearance had been quite a shock when Selena had first handed me a mirror. I had deep chocolatey eyes, and almost-black wavy hair down to the arch of my back. My skin was slightly tanned, and I had freckles scattered all over my nose and cheeks. My face was pointy but I had a small, rounded nose, making me look young but cheeky.
“Noah. You’re kidding yourself! I honestly have no idea what you are on about. Maybe you could tell me?”
His brow creased. “No. I can’t.” And with that he strode out of the room, purposefully.
I stared at the back of his head in wonder.
