I awoke to a dim light, the ground beneath me vibrated with want felt like the thundering of a thousand hooves. I was in a van, the walls where high and rounded, chunky metal screws protruding from its joints. I lay still, not daring to move from my cocoon of thin blankets that had been laid upon the hard metal floor ; my head pounded , it felt as though a belt had been tied around my skull and was being pulled tighter with every inhale I took.

The events of the day before leapt back into my memory, the bright lights, the cold floor and the stench of spilled blood all cascading upon me at once, before I registered what I was doing I began to sob. My hands jittering in my lap as I now sat upright, the cries caught in my throat drowning out all other sound.
Why am I here?
How did I get here?
I clasped a hand over my mouth and slowed my breathing, futilely attempting to stay quiet.
I need to escape.
A glinting object caught my eye, a thin sheet of metal half hidden by boxes. I reached for it, scooting myself into a kneeling position and then crawling across the wobbling ground.
I need to get out.
The van slowed to a halt and I heard a door slamming shut.
They heard me.
Folding the thin metal into a small point I crouched down, making sure I was masked by the shadows of the unlit van. From my position I could see a high window, outside it was dark.
Who are these people?
I clenched my weapon, running my thumb against the dull point. Outside I could hear voices, the woman's and my carrier. Lux and Cass. They were arguing, their voices sounding over each other as they fought for dominance, suddenly the van door clicked and was flung open with an almighty thud.

The woman entered first, swinging her hips to an invisible drum as though she was half feline. She prowled forwards, her delicate black leather boots shining against the dim light. She wore all black, a thick biker jacket, a worn looking tank top and black denim jeans. Her blonde hair seemed to glow against her plain clothing, it was cut short, just grazing against her almost visible collar bones.
Here's my chance.

She sniffed the air, wrinkling her nose with distaste as she wiped a finger against the door frame. Her back was turned away from my crouched form. It was now or never, I couldn't take two of them but maybe I could knock her out and make a run for it. Maybe.
Where would I run to?
I have no idea where I am.
Pushing all other thoughts from my mind I tipped back onto my haunches, taking a deep breath and positioning my blade delicately between fingers I pounced, throwing myself forwards with all the strength I could muster.
