"My my, Lady Luna, you are quite stubborn." The queen spoke in a disapproving tone. "I'm not going to the ball with that wretched spider and that filthy mutt!" Luna snapped. The queen paused for a moment, thinking. "I suppose you're right. My spider and guard dog are not the most pleasant of Lords, but still, that does not alter the fact that you are obligated to attend." The queen said. "Fine." Luna sighed,"Your highness, if I must, then I shall attend Sir Alois Trancy's political ball."
Sebastian: Well well now, Lady Luna May Abernathy does not think fondly of your master, does she?
Claude: *Smirks* I reckon that once she meets him, she'll find herself caught up in his web...
Sebastian: Claude, this is no time for futile metaphors. We should return to the story.
Claude: Sebastian, always behaving as though he were my master. *snickers*Lady Luna rode home in her mahogany carriage, pondering what gown she would wear to the ball. She never favored gowns or corsets very much. But, as a noble, she was required to wear them. She stared out the carriage window at the hills, trees, clouds, and occasionally horses that were passing by. *Sigh* "When will I ever get to read to the children in town square?" She softly said. If you didn't know, Lady Luna was the kindest Lady in the Land, she got her enjoyment out of helping the poor, entertaining the young children in the city, and other charities. "My lady, you were out reading to the children last Thursday, no more than four days ago." Evangeline, her maid replied as they arrived at the manor.
As Evangeline escorted Luna out of the carriage, the butler, Jacob came sprinting up to the two girls with a small envelope in hand. *Huff* *Huff* "Lady Luna, it is for you." He said, out of breath. He handed her the small envelope, which was sealed with the Funtom Toys and Confectionaries logo. "What would Funtom be doing sending me letters?" She said as she walked inside the manor. Evangeline handed her a purple crystal letter opener, a gift from her late uncle. She opened the envelope and pulled out the folded sheet of parchment paper. The letter read:
Dear Lady Luna May Abernathy,
I look forward to finally meeting you at the upcoming ball. I should like to warn you though, that Sir Alois Trancy, the queen's spider, is a pernicious man. So I beg of you, for your own safety, please keep clear of him as best you can.
Yours truly,
Ciel Phantomhive, The Queen's Guard Dog"Dangerous?" Luna said. "I'm not certain whether I should believe or distrust this letter." She read through it again. After a moment, she folded the letter in half again and slid it into her pocket. With a look of uncertainty, she walked up to her sleeping quarters. "Jacob, please bring up a cup of tea." She called. "Yes my lady, right away." Jacob called back. "I wonder if she still wants to attend." Evangeline spoke in a hushed tone. "She appears to be having her doubts." Jacob replied.
Claude: I must interrupt this story. I find it very ill-mannered that you allowed your master to send Lady Luna that letter.
Sebastian: Ah, my master speaks the truth though, Claude, and do not attempt to deny it.
Claude: ...
