"Wake up Marie Ana," said a familiar voice, "wake up, wake up!"

"What is Alex," I asked him as I opened my eyes to the darkness in my room.

"I have this feeling that something is off. I at the servant quarters, no one was there. I couldn't find anyone. So, I came to check on you," he told me.

I asked, "than why couldn't you do it tomorrow morning. Besides what time is it anyway?"

"It's 3 A.M.. I am serious. I got this bad feeling that something is going to happen. I checked on the outside of the castle's walls and there was still a carriages there," he informed me.

"But, shouldn't have the guest have left by now," I asked once again.

He sighed and replied, "That's the thing I don't the most get. I was hoping that you'll accompany me to your majesty's chamber. Since he will go easier on you."

"Don't worry. I will join you," I told as I into my slippers.

"Good, follow me," Alex said as he opened the door for me.

We walked down the empty hallways as Alex said. There was this sort of heavy aurora in the air. The lights were strangely off and there wasn't a single servant or guard in sight. I could see the figure of the heavy wood doors of my parents' chambers. Alex and I stopped right in front of those doors. He slowly reached for the wooden handle and opened a small crack in the door.

Because of the moonlight I was able to see the life leaving my father's red eyes. There stood a man along with a few others in the room with cloaks on. That man had placed a sword through my father's kind heart. Blood was slowly leaving the wound on his body. My mother's body was already on the floor with a pool of blood staining her nightgown. Her face shows that she had a painful death. My father's body eventually hit the ground with a loud thud. While standing my eyes start to fill up with tears from shock.

Instantly Alex grabs my hands and starts to run dragging me with him. My legs are too numb to move.

In the distance I could make out, "We must not let anyone or anything alive after tomorrow." That's when my legs start to kick in.

We reached the servants' courters. Where Alex opened the door into a sercret passage that we use in our games. He closed it the second we got in.

"Marie Ana, we are going to leave the castle tonight. We must get out of here at once," he told me rapidly. I nodded in response.

We keep on running through that dark passageway for what seemed like hours. Until we reached an old wooden door. Alex quickly opened the door and got us out.

We were in the forest that sorrounds the castles. I could see in the corner of my eye huge hungry flames eating away the castle.

"Let's go to the cave where we play hide and seek. They won't find us there," Alex said as he started to run. I quickly followed him.

For some reason the forest appeared to be my more different and strange. As if these weren't the same trees that I see everyday. After running for a while I can start to see the opening of the cave being covered by the roots of an old oak tree. Alex started to climb in while dragging me with him.

"I think will be safe here for now," Alex told me.

"Good," I responded. I could feel the weight of the world on my shoulders. Than everything went black.
