Many soccer players such as some famous player's like Lionel Messi, Alex Morgan, Christiano Rolnado, etc use this technique very much. Without it, the game would be very bland and boring. While dribbling players can perform many tricks and skills to get around defenders.
Now let's see how to perform this skill by reading the step by steps below.
STEP 1: A soccer ball would be handy to have to practice with.
STEP 2: Place the ball between your feet, and tap the ball slightly forward with your dominate foot.
Tip: Do not kick the ball to far forward. Keeping it just a little ahead of you will be much easier to control.
STEP 3: Now bring your other foot forward to the opposite side of the ball and tap it back. Practice this motion over and over swapping between feet.
If you are finding it difficult try just using one foot.
Once you have got the hang of doing it slowly you will soon be able to jog with the ball. With further progression of sprinting to a high level.
When you have got this easy skill learnt, you can start to add advance skills such as; step overs, turns, scissors etc.
