Thyme spent a month in rehabilitation, gaining back her ability to walk. Lysander was there for the bits he could be, alternating between school and her.
It was remarkable how quickly she healed. Her memory was alright with the things she had learned in school, but when it came to emotional attachments, she could only remember her parents, who had been shot in a bank robbery three months prior. It had been a tragic happening, and as soon as Thyme was independent enough in her walking, he took her to their graves.
She had understandably cried for a long while, and then promised them that she would live well for them. He stood back respectively, until she turned to him and buried her face in his shoulder. She still didn't remember him, but they had grown close during the time in which she healed.
He held her close, not caring that her tears were staining and ruining his top, only caring that she was hurting and he needed to help her.
She may have recovered from that accident, but this was going to take a while to come back from.
