I heard the loud beep of a car from the window , Ella was waiting for me. Normally it was the other way around, I would wait for her, sitting in my porch, looking at the time in my phone, wondering if she forgot about me -which she once did- but this time, I have admit it was completely my fault, I woke up late and I couldn't find half of my clothes, because we just moved to a new house.
I get out of the house while I'm being shouted at.
"Hurry up, bitch!"
"Jesus, calm your tits woman!" I answer back, sitting in the passenger sit.
"Are you sure you two are best friends?" I hear someone ask from the back sit, when I turn around I see Ella's brother, Charlie, he normally goes in his own car, but it is now broken, so he's stuck with us to go to school.
"Hey!" protests Ella "This bitch and I have our beautiful and our horrible moments sometimes, but we love each other".
I laugh at this and then I realise something "You know what? You call me bitch more than by real name," she also laughs at my statement and agrees.
Ella never calls me Sarah, it's not a problem for me, I don't mind that she calls me by other names, which are mostly insults, but I don't mind because I know she doesn't really mean it. When I first met this weird black-haired girl, I thought she was a little mean and harsh, but when I actually started to know her, she is really sweet and just loves banter.
A few minutes later we were stepping out of the car, in our high school parking lot. Charlie was already gone and Mandy, one of my other best friends is coming toward us looking very excited.
"Guess what" she says.
"What?" Ella asks.
"But-but you have to guess!" Mandy cries like a little kid who is forbidden from eating sweets. We both look at her with very serious faces and she gives up "You two are no fun. Well, but the good news is that... Jerry talked to me today!!"
I sight, Mandy is obsessed with Jerry McGarry, a boy in our year, in my opinion he is bad mannered, stupid and a total player, but she will never listen to me, she completely fell for his hotness and charm, and I don't really blame her, he is very good looking. "Good for you Mandy, now can we go to my locker? I don't want to be late to class."
They both stare at me like I'm an alien and finally Ella breaks the silence "we have fifteen minutes till we have to go to class Little Nerd".
"Exactly!" I exclaimed "And then I have to go to my locker, we will have to hear Mandy daydream about Jerry, you will make us go and look for Thomas and then, we will be late for class" I say, remembering what happens every morning.
"Agh... ok, but I do not daydream about Jerry" tries to argue Mandy and obviously fails when Ella and I laugh.
Moments later, we are standing next to my locker, me taking out my maths book and two notebooks.
"Why do you need two?" asks Thomas, who just came. Thomas -Or Tommy like I love to call him- is one of the last of my group of best friends. We know each other since I came new in this school two years ago, when everyone knew each other, and I didn't know anyone, he helped me once, and presented me to my other two best friends, without him I would be the odd new girl who no-one wanted to talk to.
"Dear Tom," starts Ella "do you actually don't know that our little friend here has already completed the first notebook and is half across the second one?"
"You have to be kidding me!" When I shake my head, saying no, he looks at me "but it's only half way through the year, not even that!!"
"Well, I...em... senior year is full of new information, and maths is a very important subject, so I try my best" I say, "and also, this notebooks are very small, it's very easy to finish them!"
