I'm no shinobi. I have no self-defense skills of any kind. I'm a business person, I'm still in school for crying out loud! But, I need a job.

I look wearily at the large circular clay building with the symbol for "Wind" on it. This is where I'll be spending all of my free time, as the new Kazekage's assistant. Yeah, and I'm not a big fan of the new Kazekage.

He terrifies me, he terrifies half of the Hidden Sand. And I have to work with him.

I take a deep breath, straighten up my back, adjust my notebook that I carry in my arms, and push back my glasses. Okay, first day of work.

I walk into the building, a few people nod at me. I politely nod back and start heading up the clay steps. My heart beat quickens, I never actually met the Kazekage. I had to go through countless jonin back-round checks to get this job. Now, I'm going to meet the infamous Gaara. The freak...the monster....the demon...the Kazekage.

I get to the top floor, I begin making my way down the corridor. My throat feels dry, I'm still so terrified about what he'll be like. No one truly excepts him as Kazekage because he's so horrible. At least that's what I hear.

I stop at the office door. I just stare at the wood surface. Maybe I should just quit now? Not risk my life for a stupid job! I go to turn around, then a voice says from behind the door,"You may come in."

I jump slightly, but I open the door,"Good evening, Kazekage-sama."

I'm slightly shocked to see that the infamous Gaara is just a boy my age, sitting at a large desk scattered with paperwork. Red hair, no eyebrows, the symbol for "love" is a scar on his forehead. Then his eyes, teal with no pupils and very raccoon-like But, they look hurt....alone.

"You must be Kurosawa Fusa," the Kazekage says,"Correct?"

"Yes,"I bow my head towards him.

"Well, I know you passed all your interviews. But would you mind answering a few more questions?" he motions to the chairs in front of the large desk.

"Oh, um, sure,"I nod and quickly take a seat.

The Kazekage looks through a stack of papers a pulls one out,"First, as you can see, I have a few plants in here. I will have you water them, so I need to know if you have any sort of allergies."

"No, no allergies," I respond, surpressing the nervousness I felt. He seems so.....normal. There has got to be something off about him.

"Second, you may know I have two siblings," he looks up at me,"They may ask you to do things for them as well, do you mind that?"

"No, not at all," I say.

"Third, are you able to stay here late if I need you to do extra paperwork?"

"Yes."

"Fourth, are you able to be trusted with sensitive information?"

"Yes."

"Last question,"he looks me in the eye, I can't help but look away,"Why did you apply for this position?"

"Um... Do you want my business answer, or personal reason?" I ask.

"Both," he answers.

"Being you assistant would look great on a resume. And I want to be a business woman when I get out of school. Hopefully I can change the Wind Country's economy for the better,"I nod,"As for my other reason... Well, because no one else wanted the job. No one barely glanced at the help wanted signs. And, I guess I'm just the weird one who does what no one else cares to even attempt."

Gaara stares at me intently for a few moments, and I try not to squirm under his gaze,"Okay then. Your office is just across the hall. I have all your work that you need to do already on your desk."

"Thank you," I stand up and turn towards the door.

"I'll call you if I need anything," Gaara says and I hear him flip through his papers.

"Right,"I open the door and close it behind me. I let out a sigh of relief, I guess he wasn't that bad. I walk across the hall and open the door . My eyes widen and my jaw drops.

The room is less than half the size of the Kazekage's office. Mountains. It has mountains of paperwork everywhere. I cover my mouth in a attempt not to scream at the amount of work I'll have to do.

I calm down a bit. I take a deep breath, I reach into my pocket to grab a hair tie and pull my purple hair up. Okay, time to get to work.

***

I have filed, organized, copied, labeled , and signed off on all of the paperwork. I look at the clock on the wall. Dear lord, it's eleven o'clock. My hours are supposed to be from three thirty to seven.

I look through the notebook that I had brought with me, I only have six blank pages left. I'm going to have to buy over a hundred notebooks for this job.

I sigh, pulling off my hair tie and letting my hair down. I go to open my door, but someone opens the door before I can.

It's the Kazekage,"Oh, your still here?"

"Um, yes," I motion to my now clean office,"Everything has be completed."

"I see," Gaara looks around the room,"It's surprising you did so much work and stayed overtime on your first day."

"Well,"I scratched the back of my head nervously,"I didn't expect so much work on my first day, either."

"Good job," he nods at me.

"Um, did you need something?" I ask.

"I wanted to check on if you did an adequate amount of work,"Gaara replies,"And you obviously did more than the fair share."

"Thank you," I smile politely.

Gaara turns around,"I expect the same thing tomorrow."

My stomach drops, if there is this much work tomorrow, I'm going to die,"I'll do my best." Gaara doesn't respond, he just goes into his office and shuts the door behind him.

I walk down the hall, heading for the stairs. Gaara isn't really that scary at all. Everyone says he's a monster, but he seemed pretty normal. Well, minus the eyebrow thing.

I shake my head, they're has to be something with him. People wouldn't say such mean things without a good reason, right? I'll just go ask my parents about the Kazekage, maybe they'll clear things up.
