Chapter 3

I groaned awake and saw Hayley on unconscious. "Hayley?" I called out to her but she didn't move. i started panicking. "Hayley wake up. come on," I started screaming and pulling at the ropes around my wrists. My wrists burned. They had vervain on them. "Hayley come on. Wake up and help me."

"I don't think she can hear you," I heard a voice say. I pulled again and groaned in pain. "Sorry, had to take precautions." I looked up and there was a witch standing there. She had brown hair that reached down to her chin and was standing there in a white dress. 

"What the hell do you want?" I growled. She took a step back almost as if she was scared of me. Why was she here if she was scared of me? It did explain the ropes. I knew there were other witches who aren't scared of vampires. 

"She's helping me," I knew that voice. I hadn't heard in a long time but I knew that voice. It was my brothers voice. I looked up and saw him standing there.  I was in such shock that I almost didn't hear someone coming. He then hid me and the witch. "I need to show you something about Hayley." 

In walked Elijah, Nik, and Rebekah. They rushed to her side and gave her blood. "What happened? Wheres Charlotte?" Elijah asked worried. 

"She ambushed me! She's working with Marcel. She lied to you," she cried. Rebekah didn't believe but the others had. I could see why they believed me. I knew Marcel was alive and he didn't kill me like I had said. 

"She's a liar," Daniel stepped out from the shadows. "I've been watching the city and Marcel for a long time. I've been doing it to protect my sister. Hayley is working with Marcel. Yes, She is pregnant with your baby but she hates your family. My sister is here with me. Ella, darling, bring her out." The witch cast a spell and I was able to walk out after the ropes came off. Hayley was shocked. 

"He's lying," she tried. "I have no reason to lie to you. Please believe me." I walked toward her and she started to cower. I didn't laugh or smile like I normally did. I was pissed off. 

"I adore this family. They are my family. I wouldn't hurt them or betray them," I stooped down and looked her in the eye. "You're going to tell us everything Marcel has planned. I wont hurt you because of the baby but mark my words, the minute you give birth, I personally will take the child you're carrying and give the baby to Nik and I will hurt you if you're lying." I stood up and looked at my brother. "You've got some explaining to do." He smiled and nodded. 

"Follow me," was all he said. We followed my brother after Nik grabbed Hayley by the arm and escorted her out. My brother went to an abandoned house in the Bayou. We were stuck at the door. "You all my come in," he pour a drink as invited us in. 

"Daniel? How are you alive?" I asked as he hugged me for the first time in years. I had tears in my eyes and I hugged him tighter. 

"After you'd become a vampire, I went to a coven of witches and asked if they could make me immortal like you but I didn't want to be a vampire. They agreed as long as I stayed in New Orleans. I agreed having no idea you'd leave," he started. "After you left, i watched over the city. I watched Marcel Closely. I knew he'd change things and not for the better after they left. He restricted magic the best he could. Now he has Davina Claire. The witches need her or they'll be drained of magic. I don't think it's fair but with Davina at his side, he knows who's used magic and will hurt them."

"What do you want us to do?" I raised an eyebrow. He sighed. He wasn't sure what to do just that he needed his baby sister's help. 

"That's where you come in. I was never the planner. You were, Charlotte. I spent years thinking what would happen if you came back, now that you're here, I don't know what to do. I just know you are wanting to challenge him." I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. I couldn't turn him down. He was my brother.
