Chapter 1
What happened? What time is it? I sat up seeing only fog. Where am I? I stood up sending a shooting pain up my leg causing me to fall again. I pull my leg up to examine when i saw him. A man in a ripped flannel shirt not 50 feet from me.
"Hey" I yelled. "Can you help me. I hurt my leg and cant walk." He swung around to look at me. That thing was not human. As soon as it spotted me it took off toward me. I tried to stand up, only to fall back down. I starting to panic. I started to crawl with the thing gaining quickly. As it neared me it lunged, grabbing my bad leg, causing me to scream out in pain and pulled me backward. It flipped me onto my back so i was staring into the empty eye sockets, glowing red, of a face covered in rotting flesh. I wanted to scream but no sound would come out. The thing made a high pitch screeching noise then leaned down to bite my neck. Right as it's teeth touched my skin a gun went off somewhere behind me. The thing fell flat on top of me and my ears were ringing from the gun shot. I shoved the lifeless body off of me then rolled onto my stomach. I looked up to see a guy standing in front of me. He was about 5"6-5"7ish with brown hair cut short. His lips were pressed in a thin line and his eyes where looking me up and down. I rolled my eyes to my self. He pointed the gun at me and my heart skipped a beat.
"Did it bite you" he said. I shook me head back and forth not being able to make words. He let out a sigh of relief and lowered his gun. "What are you doing out here?" He asked as he knelt down in front of me,his beautiful crystal blue eyes full of concern.
"I... Ummm...I-I don't know" I barley stammered out. Wow, great first impression i thought to myself. WE just sat there starring at each other for what seemed like hours but was probably only seconds. He finally broke our eye contact and looked down at my ankle.
"Ouch" he said "I should take you back to the base" and with that he leaned down and scooped me up. Cradling me in his arms he started to walk away from where i had gotten attacked. I looked up at him, his face full of determination then i blacked out.
