Chapter 3
Nic walked me down the hall to my bedroom because in the whole skirmish i manage to hurt my ankle again. He helped me into my room, gently setting me down on my bed then sat down beside me. We just sat there for what seemed like forever not saying anything
"Thanks" I said finally.
"For what?" he asked, knitting his eyebrows.
"For sticking up for me. For everything that just happened" i almost whispered. He just sat there looking down at his hands. Crap, had i said something wrong. Did i say something stupid.
"When this whole thing started, my parents were the first to get infected so my sister and i were left to fend for our self. We were ok for a couple weeks until that night. Somehow a couple of them got into the house, how i don't know, but they did. They got to my sister before i was even aware they were there and she....." He trailed off. "When Sam was wanting to kick you out i couldn't.. I Couldn't let it happen." I reach over and placed my hand on top of his. He slowly raised his gaze and stared into my eye. Thats when i realized how hot he actually was. He had the perfect color of brown hair cut short with a few hairs longer in the front. He had the most gorgeous chocolate brown eyes that just made a girl melt and he was wearing a cutoff so you could see every perfectly sculpted muscle he had and his incredibly gorgeous tan skin. We sat there starring at each other for the longest time then someone knocked on my door. We both jumped, pulling apart, and looked up at the door. Kyle was standing there awkwardly
"Umm......Nic are you coming. If I lock the door the door I'm not getting back up to let you in." he said
"Ummm" he said "I thought I might stay here tonight...if that's ok with you?" he asked looking at me. I just nodded and looked back at Kyle.
"Well......Night." he said then turned and walked off down the hall. Nic got up and shut the door, locking it with a click, then he walked over and layed down the other. I layed down and starred at the light gray ceiling until I finally drift off to sleep.

"Hey." someone said shaking me gently " Taylor, its time for breakfast." I opened my eyes to see a familiar pair of brown eyes. I sat up and stretched then climbed out of bed and followed Nic out the door. We walked through the room where all the fighting happened and into a small room that looked kinda like a mess hall. There was one long table with benches on each. The room was empty and the smell of waffles and eggs had wafted. Nic took a seat at the end of the table. I just stood in the door awkwardly until he looked up at me.
"Wanna sit down?" He asked with a grin then motioned for me to sit down next to him. I slowly walked over and sat down next to him. Then came the guys. They pushed and shoved in like a herd of cattle. They all shoved and punched to try and get the seat they wanted. I looked up to see Sam looking for a seat then he caught me starring at him and the empty seat next to me
"Oh hell no!" yelled Sam then he stormed down to the other end of the table and plopped down next to Tanner and glared at me. Then a tall brown haired guy dropped down beside me blocking Sam from my sight. I turned back to the platters of food that had just been put down in front of me.
" I made a special breakfast in honor of our new member" said Jackson "So dig in." Then the entire table exploded. Guys grabbing and stuffing food into there mouths . It was like i was at a table full of savages. I managed to grab a waffle and some eggs without losing my hand. i started to eat and everyone starred at me. I continued to eat with my silver wear, acting like i had manners and all, as they all continued to gawk at me. Whispers broke out across the table and then everyone went back to eatting. When i finished eating i stood up and took my plate to the sink then walked out of the room. I went into the room that had become a fighting arena last night and looked around. After i spotted a couch i went over and sat down. A few people left the dining room and went down the halls then i spotted the guy that sat next to me. He was tall but that awkward lengthy tall not that well proportioned tall and he looked like he could use a hair cut. He walked over to the couch and sat down beside me. He sat a little to close for my liking.
"Hey girl you wanna go back to my room and have a little fun" he whisper in my ear and put his hand on one of my thighs. I jumped up and slapped him right across his face and attempted to walk away but he managed to grabbed my wrist and push me up against a wall. "Come on don't fight it girl. You know you want it." he purred and started to grind against me. I tried to push off but I wasn't strong enough. He began to slid he hand up my shirt but was interrupted when someone picked him up and threw him across the room.He stood back up and lunge at who i now saw was Nic. Nic caught him before he could do anything and threw him back down this time taking his foot and kicking him in the face. The guy got up again just in time for Nic to throw the finishing punch right into nis mouth, but Nic wasn't finished he continued to throw punches. I didn't no what to do. Do i stop it or not? The guys face was starting to bleed and Nic was still beating his face in.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" Kyle screamed then lunged and Nic. They went rolling across the floor cussing and throwing punches. Tanner ran in and grabbed Kyle by the neck and pulled him off. Then proceeded to throw Kyle into the wall and take one of his feet and drive it right into Kyle stomach. Kyle leaned over holding his stomach only to get a knee in the face from Tanner. He slid down the wall holding his face when another kick hit his face making his head smack into the wall. That was it, Kyle collapsed onto the floor and was fro the looks of it unconscious. Tanner took one look at me then walked out of the room. Nic got to his feet and walked over to me.
" Did he hurt you" He said looking me over. I shook my head and he nodded. Nic looked from Kyle to the other guy and then grabbed my hand and led me from the room.
