Her soft rich brown hand swung at our sides holding on to my pale white one as we walked through the busy city streets. The fall evening air was cool against my cheeks and the clouds blocked out any warmth coming from what's left of the sun but I wasn't cold at all, I had my own personal sunshine beside me. Her smile was the brightest thing I'd seen all day and her laugh the best thing I'd heard all day. Her thick rimmed white glasses framed her big brown eyes and long lashes. She was beautiful and she was mine, and the thought of this always left a smile on my face.
The streets were loud, but I could hear anything but her. She talked about random things and we chatted about life. The wind blew through the streets and send our hair flying up mixing with the what was left of the colourful leaves. Her long black hair stood out against the leaves and tangled in with them whereas my short red hair merely covered my face. After the wind died we both laughed at each other for a minute and then head inside the café just down cross the street.
Sitting down across for Daisy I pulled over my black coat and pulled up one of the decorative menus even though but this point I'd been coming here long enough to have it memorised. I pulled it up to cover my face and then peeked my head over just enough to see Daisy starring at me with an amused expression. Things weren't always this light and carefree between us. There were a lot of people fighting against us in the beginning. Mostly, my family, they're very traditional and didn't approve it still don't really but I have learned that you can't let them control everything about you and you can't change who you are. I see now that being true to yourself will make you far happier than trying to make others happy.
It wasn't hard to tell it was going to snow or rain, the scars on my back hurt. They always did when it was raining or snowing. The doctors said it had something to do with the regrown nerves and tissue but i wasn't quite sure the exact reason. After ordering of seasonal items of their small menu we wandered back out into the streets of New York and watched as the first few white flakes begin to fall from the sky. First snowfall of the year, it was beautiful. It probably would look like something you'd see in a movie or painting. Two girls very much in love standing under a street light watching the small frozen flakes fall around them. But it was amazing. At this moment, I could forget about all the fighting and all the hate and be purely happy. Because she makes me happy and that won't change.
She smiled at me and stuck her tongue out to catch a snowflake on it and I did the same. Soon we both looking up with mouths open hoping a snowflake would happen to fall in. Twirling and laughing under the street light I found myself in a pure state of bliss and happiness. I stop spinning long enough to almost fall over when Daisy reached out and caught me. "You've always been such a cults'," she said with a playful smile. "That's true, at least I didn't spill my coffee that would have been way worse." I laughed standing up straight. "Oh yes heaven forbid you to spill your coffee" She laughed, I just rolled my eyes. "Don't you roll your eyes at me Rose, we both know what happens when you don't get your coffee" She glanced at me with an oh really look. But once again she was right I need my coffee. I lightly bump my shoulder against hers. She bumps mine back and we fell into step make our way back to the apartment.
Greeting the one other person in the lobby of the building we made our way over to the elevator. In the confined move box, there was some pop song playing and Daisy starts tapping her foot then bopping her head while I just watch her with an amused smile on face trying not to laugh. She glared at me and I just shrugged. After the small ding the doors open and we walked to the end of the hallway where the apartment is. I searched my coat pocket it for the keys and unlocked the door. Flicking on the lights and slipping off my boots I held the door open for Daisy and then shut it and locked it. We set down the cups and hung up are coats. But I couldn't help myself from stealing a kiss from her in the hallway. It was sweet and tasted like coffee. Before we knew it the coffee on the table was long forgotten until the next morning.
