When I was born,
i was mommy's little girl,
Wrapped around her finger,
She loved me more than anything in the world.Daddy wasn't near,
Just a mere first word,
From the very first "I love you",
it was mom's voice i heard.I took her heart in my hands,
The bond was never to be broken,
"Mommy i love you",
Were my words most spoken. She was my super hero,
She healed every wound and bruise,
Never in my life,
Was she the one i thought i'd lose.Time goes on,
The days come and go,
i put her on the highest throne,
Why did she have to stoop so low? From pig tails and smiles,
To foster care and lying,
We're all going to die someday,
But fourth grade is when i really started dying.Coming home in tears of unspeakable pain,
With my little fists clenched in fear,
Only to be told by my mother,
That my voice is exactly what she didn't want to hear.My worries followed me everywhere,
Nine years old and scared of losing more than my Hannah Montana earrings,
My childhood faded before my eyes,
Acting as a parent to both of my siblings. My sweet sixteen wasn't a fairytale,
The wait for my dinner was the longest wait of my life,
Forty-five minutes being told I wasn't worth it,
Running to the restroom to get away from the piercing knife. My home acts as a play center for men,
Where their fun never seems to end,
I can't even remember half of their names,
I didn't realize ruining my life was the new trend.I hear girls all the time saying,
"My mom is my best friend",
But my mom broke my heart,
She caused a wound that she can never mend.Through my therapy and hard times,
My anxiety and my cutting,
The only reason she got help,
Was so that I didn't start running.A mother is supposed to be there,
To love you and care for you everyday,
Did i just get the short end of the wishbone?
Because life is difficult this way.But she's my mom and no matter how hard life is,
I know that i could never leave,
I love you mom, but seriously,
Help me please.
