I slide feet into my converses and tied my hair up. I looked over my appearance in the mirror. I was wearing black joggers and goofy sweater with my all black converse. I grabbed my bag and my flip phone tossing it in there. I really need to get a new phone. I walked out the house locking it up my mom is most likely still sleep and derion probably running the streets.
I walked slowly towards for dreading every st step I took. This is the first time I been back to school since kylans death and I honestly wasn't looking forward to it. I never loved school but I didn't dislike it either now it's just a burden. I walked up the steps just as the late bell rung. I slid my hands in my joggers and walked to first period. As soon as I walked in everyone's attention turned to me. I seen apologetic faces and sorry for your loss, I simply nodded and walked to an empty desk all the way in the back.
I slid into my seat and just blocked everyone out. And that's how the rest of my day went condolences and dazed classes. At lunch I just went to the art room and finished kylans painting. I'm going to hang it in my new apartment, i'm going to go hunting for one when I turn 18 next week. At the end of the day I packed my stuff up and grabbed kylans painting. I walked down the crowded hallway and out the front door.
I spotted kyris standing outside his truck waiting for me. I raised my eyebrow and walked over to him. I ignored the mean mugs and envious glares from the other girls.
"I didn't know we had plans today and how did you know I got to school here?" I said standing in front of him.
"It wasn't that hard" He said throwing my words back at me. I laughed shaking my head. He went and got in the driver side, I put kylans portrait in the back and closed the door. Before I could get in somebody shouted my name catching my attention.
"Alina wait can I talk to you" This girl ran towards me. I looked at her closer and realized it was box braids the girl that got into the fight.
"uh yeah?" I said walking away from kyris car.
"I'm sorry about your brother" she said. I nodded because I been hearing this all day.
"Something tells me you didn't rush all the over here to give me your condolences" I said eyeing her.
"You're right I um wanted to talk to you about kyris" I crossed my arms already seeing where this is going to go. "Let me guess jealous ex, side hoe what?" I said growing angry.
"Hold up ain't nobody no ex or side hoe ma just and observer." She stepped back growing offended she crossed her arms and continued. "You have so much going for yourself don't throw it away for someone like kyris"
"Thanks for the warning but trust me it's nothing like that" I said and turning on my heels starting to walk away.
"Don't say I didn't warn you' She called after me."I won't" I smiled at her and got inside kyris truck sitting back in the seat. He raised his eyebrow at me silently questioning about what happened. I waved him off and listened to the radio.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
"The mall you need to change your imagine and plus we have to make a move tonight" He said. I sat up in my seat getting worried, I guess he sensed it because he then said. "Not that type of move a business meeting and you need to look more appealing than that"
I looked down at my goofy sweater and converse feeling a little bit insulted. I thought I looked cute. He pulled into the malls parking garage and we both got out. "One problem I didn't bring any money" I said looking at my feet.
