I groaned as I felt something heavy jump on me. Opening my eyes, I looked at what the weight was and frowned upon seeing my brother, Scorpius. He had the biggest grin on his face and was bouncing.
"Why are you so happy this morning?" I asked sitting up.
"We're going to Diagon Alley today Jaycee! Did you forget?" he exclaimed.
I rolled my eyes at my childish older brother. He was so excited for us to start school. We were going to be in our first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
"How could I forget? You've been reminding me at least five times a day since we got our letters last week," I said.
He smiled and got off my bed. "Hurry up! Get dressed! Let's go!" He ran out of my room.
Sighing, I threw the blankets off of my body and stood up. I walked over to where my pure white kitten was curled up and gently scratched between her ears before walking ot my closet. After getting dressed, I walked down the stairs and into the dining room where mum was putting breakfast on the table.
"Good morning mum!" I exclaimed kissing her cheek and sitting in my chair.
Scorpius was sitting in his chair across the table and was practically bouncing in his chair. He was seriously excited about this.
"Scorpius, calm down," my father laughed kissing mine and mum's head and sitting down.
"Dad! I can't. We're going to Diagon Alley to get our school supplies today!" Scorpius exclaimed.
"If this is him now, imagine him when we actually go to Hogwarts next week," I muttered piling some food onto my plate.
Dad laughed while Scorpius glared at me. I just smiled and stuck my tongue out at him. Scorpius grabbed some food and placed it on his plate before eating.
After thirty minutes of eating and talking, we were all done and ready to go to Diagon Alley. Mum ushered us towards the fireplace as dad grabbed the floo powder. One by one we all stepped into the fireplace and were whisked away.
Once we were all in Diagon Alley we made our way towards Gringotts to get some money. Mum handed Scorpius and I each a small bag full of money and on our way we went.
We made our way into Flourish and Blotts and grabbed our school books. I grabbed some extra books just for some extra reading and quickly payed for them.
"Why would you get more books Jaycee? That's the weirdest thing someone could ever do." Scorpius looked at me as if I was crazy.
"Weren't you so excited about going to Hogwarts, Scorpius?" mum asked.
He rolled his eyes. "Yes, but just to learn spells. I'm not into all the extra learning that will happen," he said.
"There's more to magic than just the spells, Scorpius," my father sighed, leading us into the next store.
Scorpius crossed his arms and followed dad. We grabbed everything we would need and left.
After hours of walking around, we had everything we needed and headed home.
