I was running home, carrying a black sling bag on my back, and a wide smile on my face. "Mom, I'm home!" I yelled. There was no answer. I repeated myself and still no answer. I heard shuffling upstairs, "Dad? Is that you?" I screamed louder. "Yea, you're mom is asleep so be quiet." He said quietly, but loud enough for me to hear. His head poked out over the railing upstairs, "what's in that bag James?" He said curiously. I told him it was nothing and ran to my room claiming to go to bed.
I quietly shut my door and turned on the lamp on my desk. I poured everything out of my bag, revealing a variety of bolts, screws, pieces of metal, and a gun shaped glowing object. Suddenly my room lit up, not by normal lights but red and blue police lights. I heard a knock on the front door. In panic, I hid everything, the gun looking thing was a partial excel. 500, I hid it in a box under my bed. I jumped into bed and acted as if I was asleep. I heard a loud man yell, "Where is James Hadley?!" My parents told the man I was asleep and asked what was wrong. "Where's his room?" The man said anxiously. My parents led them to my room, when they opened the door immediately a flashlight went into my face. I laid still hoping the man wouldn't be able to see I wasn't asleep. He looked over at my parents, my mom was standing behind my dad in a towel. My dad was in a bath robe, I assume my mom wasn't really sleeping. The man asked to look around, "For what? What is this about?" My mom asked. "Your son is a suspect in our search for the man who stole from NASA." My mom broke down in tears, fearful of if her son did this. My dad asked the man to look but not touch anything. My father exited the room. My mom followed the officer as he looked around and found nothing of the evidence. In his last attempt to find my guilty he turned fast but ran into my mom who was close behind. He was shorter and about her height. He tripped on a toy and fell onto my mom. He grabbed her breasts. Then held her mouth closed. He ripped off her towel and fingered her. He then quietly got off and said, "Oops. Don't tell anyone or else." She got up and tears ran down her face. She wrapped herself in the towel again. She suddenly realized the familiar man, Thomas. "Our son doesn't have anything to do with your investigation, I hope you catch whoever you're looking for. " My mom said. She ushered him out the door and all the police men went away. I heard murmuring and my mom's quiet crying. Both my parents came into my room again and watched me, fake, sleeping. Then they walked quietly to their room to go to bed. I cried quietly, I couldn't have helped my mom. I couldn't stop the man raping her, I knew who Thomas was, I wanted him dead.
