Bill's POV
The tension between Sasha and Tom was building. I could see it. He would occasionally make some boisterous comment towards her. I wanted them to be friends, But I could see that was never going to happen. He just didn't trust her. I have to admit there have been moments where she would seem suspicious but what am I to do? I am a kid. That makes me incapable of making decisions. Tom was washing the clothes out in the lake and Sasha was picking berries. I stood guard and watched our backs to make sure no nazis showed up and tried to kill us. I looked at them every few moments to see to it that neither of them would push one another into the lake. The snap of a twig got my attention and I immediately alerted them. They hopped up and grabbed their weapons.
"What is it, Bill?" Tom asked.
"I heard footsteps." I said, without dropping my guard. Tom looked around and Sasha seemed relatively calm. It worried me. She always seemed to know or predict these attacks. It made me stand on edge. Tom grabbed our things and we hightailed it out of there. We got back to the bunker and Tom tossed our things to the side.
"That's 7 this week. Sasha, what the fuck are you up to?" She shrugged her shoulders.
"Nothing. Maybe they're getting smarter." She said.
"Or you're a spy and you're letting them in on our location."
"Why would I do that? Tell him I'm no traitor, Bill." I was at cross roads again. My brother and a girl I could call my friend.
"I think we should try to get to the ship now. I heard that there's a trade ship that's taking people across to New York. We should try to get on." I said. I went over to my corner and started packing my things. Tom looked at me and could clearly see I wasn't in the mood. He just sighed and started to gather his things. Sasha left and returned several minutes later. Tom took that as suspicious and started to packing faster. I just grabbed my things and went outside.
"Bill, I don't fucking trust her. We should leave without her."
"Tom, she needs our help and I'll make sure she gets it."
"Bill, she's a spy."
"Tom, she isn't. Now let it go." I said, while hoisting the bag onto my shoulder. Tom seemed to get even more angry and just stood there stomping his feet. Once Sasha came out we started the walk to the docks. But something just didn't feel right. And that aura was coming straight from Sasha.
