"Mr. Preston, I'm only going to ask you this one more time," Detective Mills says as she placed her hands on the table and leaned forward. "Did you murder Eric Tillman last week?" She questioned him.

"Your breath smells like ass!" Ace says as he places he hand over his nose. "What the fuck did they put in your coffee? You should really get that shit checked out."

"Insulting me isn't going to help your case." She says as she backs up and checks her breath.

"It ain't no case." Ace says as he shakes his head.

"Oh really? Why are you so confident about that?" She asked as she raised her left eyebrow.

"Because if you had evidence against me, you wouldn't be wasting your time trying to pry a confession out of me." He smirks.

She places pictures of the dead body at the crime scene in front of Ace.

"What did he do to you? Did he owe you some money? Did he steal from you? What was it?!" She yells.

"You know what I think it was?" She starts off. "I think he owed you some money and couldn't pay it so you killed him and then you helped his mother pay for the funeral because you felt guilty."

The sound of the gunshots that went off last Thursday replayed over and over again in Ace's head.

Flashback

"I'll give you the other seven thousand dollars tomorrow." He said as he sat a black duffel bag on top of Ace's desk.

"Nigga, we ain't ask for it tomorrow." Ace yelled as shot him in his kneecap.

"Shit." He mumbled as he grabbed his kneecap; added pressure.

"Why the hell is my money late?" Ace asked as he got out of his chair.

Ace hates it when his money is late.

"I'll have it all by midnight." He coughed.

"Then why the fuck don't you have it now?" He yelled as he kicked his kneecap.

"I just ain't got it right now." He groaned in pain as a bullet went through his shoulder.

"Don't worry." Ace says. "I'll make sure your mama gets the money."

Flashback over

"Like I said, you're wasting your time. I don't know him." Ace says as he leans back in his chair.

"Then why did you help his mother pay for the funeral?" She asked.

"Is it wrong for a brother to help someone out? She was low on money so I looked out for her." He says while shrugging.

"Mr. Preston, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding." Captain Carter says as he walks into interrogation room. "You're free to go."

"Well, this was fun!" Ace sarcastically says as he stands up.

"Don't celebrate too soon. I'll be watching you." She yells as she watches Ace walk out of the room.

"No you won't or your badge and gun will be sitting on my desk before Monday morning."

"If I could just get a little more evidence I can connect him to twenty-seven murder cases." Detective Mills says.

"No, Detective."
