Whoa there I am back.
Calm your horses please!!!!
In the previous rant, I talked about Wattpad’s decision to delete the ‘Share Your Story Club’, due to high activity and the scandalous rule breaking such as exchanging votes and blah blah blah. But this time we are going to delve deeper into what exactly, made Wattpad’s decision to delete this very important not to mention historical part of the Canadian website.
Firstly, some people ‘argue’ *rolls eyes* that Wattpad has placed thread topics in each club for a selected genre so they can be used for sharing your story and swapping reads, but let me just point this out, if you were on Wattpad regularly, you’d notice there are only two trending clubs which include; The Café and Multimedia Designs.
That is it.
Talk about variety.
Bitch please, McDonalds have salads with more variety’s than Wattpad has.
Did that make sense?
Probably not…
Sure there are some groups of selected people lurking through the genre specific clubs, but other than that, it’s literally a ghost town throughout the social threads on Wattpad. Nobody wants to go to romance, and click on the only link that you can post your book on. It’s not direct and it sure isn’t helping anyone. People just want reads and opinions, not to read a book that has been posted months before theirs, and if you think I am overreacting, go have a look at some of the threads at the top.
These are called ‘Promo Threads’, which means special threads that Wattpad has put up so you can ‘easily’ access books similar to yours and promote your own. Why would you post your book on a bulletin, nobody wants to go through it and if they do, who says they’ll chose your book to review? It’s ridiculous, when Share your Story was around, sure there were some threads involving, the words ‘emptied’ and ‘library’ or ‘any book’ and ‘free comments’ which told you exactly what the reader wanted. They wanted BOOKS. Maybe for the small price of a comment or a read, maybe even a fan, or for some of my Slim Shady’s out there *winks* the votes.
If you are bad ass like me, you’ve wanted votes more than once…
Like I said before, I didn’t choose thug life, thug life chose me.
YOLO HOLLA AT A PLAYA FOR BEING SO FLY YO!
There is no way around it, once Wattpad got rid of Share your story, they ultimately destroyed new writers dreams to get their books out there and noticed, I don’t care if you follow a billion different ‘how to become Wattpad famous’ books and they tell you not to promote and just be really active.
That the reads will just come. That’s not the truth, sure you’ll gain few readers but the whole point is to promote your story is to actually have people see the blurb and think ‘oh that sounds interesting enough’ or ‘what a cute title page and blurb!’ Say what you want but we all know that certain books such as one that involves a bad boy living in *cough* one’s room *cough* and another one where a girl meets a dark sexy * could be any story guys, seriously* poet on an online writing site, wouldn’t be as popular and successful as they are today, without a tad of promotion, although some of these ‘bigger’ writers won’t admit it
I, for one think that everybody deserves a shot at Wattpad fame, but how is that going to happen when Wattpad is pulling a Kim Kardashian* on us, and won’t move their big bum out of the way to glory and fans!
