Chapter 1

(They are in the Southern Wolf Tribe kingdom)

Laurence's POV

I look around me.. I see Aphmau scared out of her mind.. I don't blame her.. Who wouldn't be if one day you just woke up in a dungeon with cat ears and tail being told that your forced to marry someone you don't even love.. Aph keeps looking at me as if shes trying to tell me that I need to get us out of here.. I look behind me and see the gaurds watching me with my hands tied behind my back.. I see the prince that Aphmau's being forced to marry. He looks at me with a sad, depressing look on his face as if he doesn't want to marry Aphmau.. Then Michi walks in with Katelyn. Katelyn hits her in the stomach with her elbow and Michi hisses at her.. She mouths to me "Its time." and just like that she turns into her Jury Of Nine form and breaks her chains. She glances at me then runs out the door, all the gaurds chasing her.. " Its working" I thought. The king yells at the gaurds holding my chains for not going after her, so they do. I quickly grab Aphmau's wrist and she lets out a soft whimper of fear. I pull her outside, Pick her up in my arms as if she was my wife.. *Sigh* If she was my wife.. I know there's a cave not far from here but whats inside of it, I don't know. It could be Zane for all we know.. But its a risk we need to take considering the king himself with his army is after us.. On horses. I run as fast as I can to the cave and sit Aphmau in a corner while I check to see if the king realized we had went into the cave. They didn't. Thank Irene. I sit beside Aphmau.. She starts to cry and buries her face in my chest and says "L-Laurence.. Im scared.." I try to think of sme way to cheer her up but I got nothing. So I just pulled her in close and hugged her. Which sure enough, seemed to calm her down. The she whispers to me "Laurence.. I love you" My heart skipped a beatand I blush. "Uh.. A-Aphmau?" I asked in hope. Then what she said struck me like knife. "Laurence! I meant as a friend!" She giggles. God that giggle. But I cant blame her.. I knew since I met her she never returned those feelings.. But I guess I never got over those deep, brown, chocolate eyes and that silky wavy black hair.

Aphmau's POV

Laurence pulled me into this cave earlier.. He's such a good friend. And guard. He's always there for me. He's always been there for me.. I guess I never really appreciated him the way I should've. I lay my head on his shoulder and start to doze off. Laurence jolts up. "Laurence? Whats wrong?" he makes a motion at me to stop talking. So I do. He starts walking towards the entrance to the cave.. He goes to pull out his sword but quickly realizes that the werewolves took all of his stuff. We hear a soft whisper "Aphmau.. Laurence.. Its me.." Laurence looks at me and smiles that bright smile as if he knows who it is.
