Just One Kiss

Lettuce midorikawa looked around as she heard a rustling noise from the bushes behind her. "Mew mew lettuce, metamorphosis!" she cried as the rustling got louder. Out of nowhere ryou stepped out and scooped lettuce into a hug. "Shirogane-san!!! You scared me!" she said as she returned to normal. "I was only missing my girlfriend, and who could blame me?" ryou said as he pulled out a tiny gift bag. "What's that?" lettuce asked as she reached for it. "It's your birthday present!" ryou chuckled as he handed her the small gift. When lettuce opened it and a huge wave of happiness and love overtook her. Ryou had gotten her a heart-shaped locket with a picture of him and lettuce. "I could never stop protecting you!" ryou said as he hugged lettuce.

'Does he really love me?' lettuce thought as she stared at the locket. Ryou stepped forward and clipped the necklace around her neck. "Well we should get back to the café before everyone starts worrying about us, eh?" when they reached the café ryou opened the door and the inside interior was green and a large banner said 'happy birthday, lettuce!!!" lettuce shrieked excitedly and ran inside. When she ran up to ichigo, ichigo just rushed her to the changing room. "Quick put this on, na no da!" pudding said as she handed lettuce the dress.

Ryou shirogane's heart was pounding as he waited for his girlfriend. "akasaka- san, do you think lettuce really loves me?" he asked kechiiro. "Of course she loves you, what made you think any different?" kechiiro asked. Ryou just sighed and walked to the cake-stand. 'I wish I could tell if she really did love me' ryou thought as he waited. Out of nowhere deep blue, one of the aliens came and tried to attack lettuce, but ryou moved her out of the way just in time. And instead ryou got hit with the attack.

He couldn't move.

He couldn't breath

He just sat there as he waited for his death.

"SHIROGANE-SANNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ryou heard lettuce shriek as she ran to him. "Shirogane-san, don't die! Please don't die, I love you too much! I WILL KILL YOU, DEEP BLUE!!!!!" he heard her scream as she turned to the alien. 'well at least she loves me' he thought as he drew in a weary breath.

Ryou noticed lettuces terror in her face as she transformed. 'I wish she wouldn't look like that...'ryou thought as he passed out. Next thing he knew lettuce was standing over his blood-stained body. "Are you ok, ryou?" she asked as he opened his eyes. "Y-yes I am midorikawa-san. I woul- wouldn't dream of leaving you, ever. You saved me." he said as he stood up. That night as he lay in his bed he thought about what lettuce had said. 'I love you too much!' was one that kept going through his mind the most.

Lettuce got up and went to answer the door. Ryou stood there as if he had something to say, but all he did was reach out and hug a surprised lettuce. "You saved me, of all people you have saved; I am most shocked that you saved me..." he said as he hugged lettuce tighter. ' I could never stop protecting you' rang through lettuce's mind. "You will always protect me, right? Like you did today right?" lettuce said as she looked up at ryou. "Why would I stop protecting you, I love you!" ryou asked, puzzled. Lettuce didn't answer but just hugged ryou as tight as possible.

Ryou couldn't wait until the next day as he left lettuce's house. 'she really does love me!' he thought as he went to sleep. The next day he put on a different outfit. Instead of his leather choker, he wore a light blue shirt and jeans. Lettuce look surprised when she saw his change of outfit, and ryou only walked over to her and scooped her into a hug. "I love you so much!" he whispered as he held her close. Lettuce only blushed.

The words made lettuce shiver as she blushed slightly. 'I love you so much.' He had said that the night before too. 'I love you so much' such a simple phrase and yet strong enough to make one shiver. 'I love you so much.' "I love you to ryou!" She whispered as she relaxed and began to get to work. Strangely she only dropped one cup, a lettuce record. "Onee-sama lettuce, are you ok?" pudding asked as she got ready to go home. "Yes pudding, I'm ok." Lettuce answered back. "Ok, pudding is going to park with tar-tar today, na no da!" she sang as she skipped away.

"Thanks for the fun time today, ryou." Lettuce said to ryou when they got to her house. Ryou couldn't think of a time when he hadn't been thinking about zakuro, but lettuce was better than anybody he had ever met, especially zakuro. He looked at lettuce's emerald-green eyes and her green hair that matched so perfectly. He reached in and hugged her again. He was glad to be there, with his one true love, his only love, lettuce midorikawa. Lettuce midorikawa, the shy, clumsy, apologetic girl, was now with him, a fierce, courageous, and caring girl.

Lettuce looked up at the ryou she had always adored. She had tried hard her whole life to meet someone important, and yet here she was, with ryou. "midorikawa-san, I love you so much." She heard him say. The next thing she knew he kissed her. She felt more surprised than ever then. The guy of her dreams, ryou shirogane, had kissed her. She began shivering as a breeze blew her braids across her face.

"Oh... you're cold. Here, use my jacket" he said as he handed her his jacket. Lettuce only blushed up at ryou, and shifted the jacket around on her shoulders. "Lettuce, can I have just one kiss before I leave?" ryou asked. "Yes you can ryou!" lettuce said as she kissed ryou goodnight.

Lettuce and ryou parted after a while. "I will always love you shirogane-san!!!!!!!"
