~Apple Jacks pov~

So here's the deal, I'm a pony who runs a ranch, loves apple cider, apples, apple pie, anything with apples and a mare called Rainbow Dash. I'm what you call a hard worker. I get up then go to work. No horseplay gets involved in my daily life, no pun intended. Rainbow on the other hand; she's an egotistic, confident slacker. But I still love her though. But honestly, who doesn't? She's funny, beautiful, fun-loving and amazing in every other way! Of course, I never told her that before. I've may have written it down somewhere just to keep it to myself, but never have I told her my feelings of her. No. No one can know about that. Equestria's got rules. I don't know if it's actually a thing where you're not permitted to share the certain feeling with another gender, maybe why you hardly ever see that type of couple, or whether ponies don't do it for personality purposes. As in they don't do it because they're afraid of what others may think, and I'm falling into that same dirt path. Dishonest to themselves. Dishonest; that word makes me shudder. Disgusting. Anyway, time for me to get to work.

I took a few steps back, my light orange hooves padding along the dirt trail. In front of me, a fairly large tree with a bunch of red apples hanging off the branches. I lowered my body and kept my stance wide. My right hoof was placed a tiny piece of wheat length in front of my left. My muzzle lowered to the ground, almost enough to where I could smell the fresh Earth below me. And then, I dashed, running straight at the center of the tree trunk. My head turned to the right and I let my shoulder stick out. I slammed my shoulder against the tree trunk, causing  the branches to shake and the apples to fall of immediately as the effect. Coincidentally, they all fell into a basket that was placed below one of the smaller branches. I smiled to myself, proud of my working ability. Brushing off the dirt from the tree trunk on my shoulder, a familiar taunting laughter emitted from up above. I looked up towards the sky.

A streak of light blue zoomed in the air. A rainbow streak followed behind as it moved, the streak further away from the speedy thing faded away into most and then transformed into nothing but vapor. Then, the light blue thing curved and rocketed up into the sky at an alarming rate. It's altitude increased with every flap and glide of its wings. It stopped in mid-air, completely disobeying the force that should have threw it straight up into the air by stopping randomly at that speed. Once it stopped moving, I could make out who it was. Rainbow Dash. Sure, she looked quite small since I was down on the ground and she was way up in that layer of troposphere. She looked down and I could have sworn her magenta(?) eyes gleamed when they gazed upon me. I'm an instant, Rainbow darted back down to my level of elevation. She stopped again when she reached the height of the branches of the trees. Her head turned and she gave me a confident smirk.

"I wouldn't be so proud of yourself for that one. How are you ever going to get your work done at that rate? You're way too slow! I can do this job way better than you can—just watch me!" Rainbow boasted, her attention on the acres of apple trees. Immediately she took off again. Her limbs stretched out wide and her wings flapped fiercely, giving her even more speed. She turned and got even closer to the trees' branches. Her right wing smacked the branches with each flap. The force of her wing made the apples fall off the tree and into the wooden weaved baskets that were placed under every tree. It seemed like she did this forever; clearing most of the end trees of each row. Swiftly, she flew back over to me, her feathered wings flapping slowly, exhausted from being over worked, but I knew Rainbow would try to cover up her exhaustion. "Now imagine if you had wings and my speed. You'd be able to finding all your work plus Big Mac's work in 30 minutes...tops!" She boasted.

I rolled my eyes, "I'd rather do it the old-fashioned way. Besides, I'm an Earth pony and your not. You attend to your weather job and I'll attend to mine." Picking up the handle of the basket with my mouth, I trotted off back to the barn. Rainbow settled down to the ground and walked beside me.
"I think I deserve a thank you for my service." I stopped and placed the basket down. "Were you helping me just to help me or were you helping me just to show off?" The light blue pegasus stared at me. It felt like several hours before she spoke. "Maybe...did you adore, admire, or love my speed? It's okay if you say all three." I sighed, mentally laughing at her arrogance. Picking the basket back up, I continued my way to the ranch, Rainbow following me in the process.

"Like I said before, it'll take you less time if you adapted my superior speed and strength skills." Rainbow, yet again, boasted as she flexed, as if she had the muscles of Bulk Biceps. I rolled my eyes and pushed down in the handle to the water well. Clean water spurted out of the faucet-looking pipe and filled the rusty bucket below it.
Rainbow Dash hovered over my shoulder. "Uhh, watcha doin' now?"
My hooves released the handle, causing the water to slow down until there was nothing but a drop of water leaking out of it, and turned to the curious, and cute, pegasus. "Collecting water for the crops." I said proudly and pointed at the plot land. "Big Mac and I plowed it earlier today. Then, when Apple Bloom came back with a rucksack full of seeds, we planted 'em. Now I just gotta give them some w-"

Rainbow Dash interrupted me with a yawn and a stretch. "Yeah, yeah, farming stuff, farming stuff, blah blah blah—tell ya what, you sit here with your puny pale of water and I'll show you how Dashie gets it done." With lightning speed she shot herself up into the air. Her magenta eyes squinted as the wind blew straight into her face and made her eyes water. Criss-crossing this way and that, she pushed other clouds into one that was right above the plot land. The white fluff started to turn into a silver colour and darkened with every new cloud that got added onto it. I couldn't calculate how much she was adding into it, but for what I knew it had been a lot. The cloud was now a dark grey and looked about ready to burst due to how much water vapor was filled inside of it. With one more cloud added into it, rain poured down from it and landed all over the plot land, watering each and every seed. Only thing is, it was way too much.

"Rainbow Dash!" I shouted up to her from the ground, completely drenched in water, "What in tarnation do you think you're doing?"

"Helping. It's my responsibility to help the ones whom's skills don't match up with mine. You really should thank me you know."

"Thank you?!" I shouted

"You're very welcome."

"That is not at all what I meant! I said 'thank you' as in, why should I be thanking you. You're drowning the seeds. You're gonna make 'em wash away!"

"Okay, okay I'll make it stop raining."
A smirk formed on her face. "But you've got to let me do something first." I groaned. Was this really the best time for one of these games?
"What? What do I have to let you do?"
She landed back in the ground in front of me, now getting soaked in the rain as she made contact. "This." Rainbow Dash gave me a small, but sweet, kiss on the cheek. My cheeks light up bright pink. She kissed me....on the cheek?! Wait a minute, does she have the same feelings to or was she only doing that to gross me out? Rainbow Dash rocketed into the air again and rammed into the rain cloud, making it stop raining instantly.

"Welp, I'm going to Sugar Cube Corner. Pinkie and I have a day of pranks ahead of us. And don't worry, I won't let her make a fool out of you too much." She winked and flew off like nothing had happened. I stared into the distance, bewildered at what she had done. Breaking Equestria law or not, I love that tomboy brat.
