After two years of endless slaughtering, Draco Malfoy cannot help but feel the emptiness in his chest grow bigger and bigger with every unforgivable curse he casts; however, he remains hopelessly stuck in his position due to the fact that he cannot defect with risking the lives of his remaining family. Desperate for air, Draco finds the last of his hope in a rambunctious, pink-haired witch from his past, hoping that she might hold the key to a sliver of happiness.
But Wren Vitamula is no longer the sarcastic, foul-mouthed, girl who would jump into a fight at any moment. She has been reduced to a weary bystander for not only her own protection, but for her weakened mother. Exhausted from fighting a two-front battle, it is all she can do to stay awake at night.
Determined to earn the trust of the unfathomable witch, Draco fights harder than he ever did before, not entirely convinced of what his reasons are, but knowing that he must protect Wren before the looming war and the Dark Lord corrupt her,
