With that he sat and waited. He didn't have to wait long, though, for not even 5 minutes later he heard a tiny small voice that belonged to no one else except Little Red.
"Hello? Grandma?"
Ace froze for a moment before he cleared his throat and called out in an 'old lady' voice. "In here, dea-rie..."
His voice cracked.
'Shit...' He thought. 'Maybe she didn't notice.'
Little Red's head popped in the door frame, her powdered blue eyes sparkled. "Grandma? In bed already?" She asked softly as she walked up to the bed slowly.
"Well, I started feeling faint so I figured I'd lay down." He lied smoothly.
"Okay. Hey! Did Ace the Wolf stop by? He said he'd meet me here..." She said in a hopeful tone glancing around the house.
Ace quickly cleared his throat to get her eyes back on him since he didn't want her to notice the mess. She did just that, looking at him with a happy expression. "Oh that nice dog. He stopped by but said he couldn't stick around because he had to go somewhere else. Though, he told me to tell you that he'll be back sooner than you expect." Ace said in his 'old lady' voice.
Little Red frowned some. "Oh." was all she said and how she said it was in such a way all you wanted to do was hug her and tell her it'd be alright, but not to Ace. It just wanted to make him eat her that much more with her plump cheeks, healthy skin, warm body. He had to hold back the urge to snap at her right then and there.
Little Red looked at her 'grandmother' and noticed how big she was in her bed but... maybe that was just the blankets? She noticed more about her 'Grandmothers' face than she did before. "My, Grandma; What big ears you have."
Ace was thrown off by the question but he quickly made a recovery. "Well.. The better to hear you with, my dear."
Little Red didn't stop there. "What big eyes you have!" She nearly shouted, noticing that her 'grandmothers' eyes weren't the same warm and caring powdered blue as hers behind those glasses but instead, black and secretive.
Ace sighed inside but answered all the same, "The better to see you with."
"What big hands you have!" Little Red said, noticing they weren't hand's at all, but paws....... CLAWS EVEN! She began to back up slowly towards the door since she began to see that this wasn't her 'grandmother'... but an imposter.
Ace was starting to get annoyed with all the questions and having to come up with an answer. He noticed she began to back away which only made him realize that she was finding him out and he had to act fast. "The better to hug you with." Ace told her gently as he reached out and scooped her up, cradling her like a baby. He got a small squeak out of her as he touched her.
Little Red didn't move, let alone breath but with every breath she happen to take in she could smell nothing but the forest, metallic blood, and small hints of her REAL grandmother. She looked up just a bit to see big ivory teeth coming out of their jaw. "W-What large teeth you h-have... Grandma..." she managed to say in a tiny voice that wasn't hers.
That was it.... He was found out. 'About time.' With a wicked smile that showed all his teeth, he spoke in a low deep growl.
"The better to eat you with, Little Red."
