There was a manic smile on the Doctor's face as he pressed buttons and pulled levers. The TARDIS lurched to the left, sending Clara flying. The Doctor, who was truly in his element was upright still, his eyes calculating as he took in the information his precious TARDIS was telling him.
"Do you actually know what is happening?" Asks Clara, holding tightly to the console.
The Doctor looks at her, taking in her features for a second. "Yes," He says. The manic look returns to his eyes as he idly runs his fingers along the rows of buttons. "We're falling.." His tone changes, changes into one of thought. "We're falling through a rift in time..."
As if on cue, a speaker bleeps and a light flashes and he runs around the console to check on the warning. A small gasp escapes his parted lips. He smiles and straightens his bow tie. Turning to look at Clara, his eyes alight with the fire of curiosity. "How exciting!"
Clara frowns as the TARDIS seems to calm. "A rift in time.. Does this happen often?" She stares at the console for a moment.
"Now, see, that's the fun of it. It doesn't! It shouldn't! It can't!" He says, grinning. The Doctor stares at the console one last time before turning back.
At this moment, the ship lurches, falling down, spinning uncontrollably, they fall, victims of gravity.
Three heartbeats in her ears, an unusual sound. She opens her eyes in shock, looking around at her surroundings. And there was the interior of the TARDIS in all her glory. But the three heartbeats in her ears? Now that was unusual. One of them, yes, one of them was hers. But the other two... She felt her own heart beat quicken as she realises that there she was with her head rested gently on his chest.

EDIT: I have rewritten this as when I first wrote it, I wasn't happy with the way it was written. I hope to get back into my writing on Wattpad. So here we go!
