I made my way through the cluster of adults hurriedly, shoving past a few people and adjusting my dress when I'd finally got to the quietest part of the house right now, the kitchen. I blinked in the light as I went to fill up my mum's glass.

Hi, I'm Chloe. I'm 13 and I have caramelly brown hair and deep blue eyes. I guess my life is pretty normal, I was born into a normal family with my mum and my dad.

That sucks. I hate normal.

I carried the drink back to my mum and worried as she thanked me, her words slurred. I stood there awkwardly while she told me I was the best daughter ever.

"Its a shame you're not our real daughter," She had said, and I frowned in confusion.

What?

My dad pulled me to the side quietly.

"Dad what did she mean?" I asked, folding my arms. He took a deep breath and met my eyes.

"We wanted you to find out when you're older, but you're adopted." I froze and stared him down, before pushing past everyone back to my room.

That was two weeks ago.

Now I know the truth, I'm going to find my real parents.

And I'm not resting until I do.
