The marks on her wrists increase daily

With every word that gets thrown her way.

She is compelled to flaw herself again,

A carpet of red where she lay.

Promises are made time and time again,

Yet these promises are made to be broken.

Never a second thought goes through her mind

No one knows her troubles for she is unspoken.

It’s like finding a needle in a haystack.

Her scars hidden behind a wall so high

It takes a thousand men to climb over.

The scars a constant reminder upon her thigh.

Crickets chirping in the silent room,

The atmosphere thick with dread.

Deep within her never ending soul,

The weight held high above her head.

A story without a beginning,

A maze without an end.

She fears the day when in her world

Everything starts to blend.

In her life a dark cloud follows

Sending shivers down her spine.

The blissful days are over now

No way for light to shine.
