Falling for the Unexpected

Prologue!!!

Danni Voight, her brother Asher Voight, his best friend Mike Carter, and her best friend Jackson Colins have grown up together. Asher and Mike are only a year older then Danni and Jackson and they all have a lot in common including the fact they have spent most of their lives joint at the hip, with the three boys being dangerously gorgeous Danni was bound to fall for one of them. Obviously not her brother... I mean Ewww, her best friend? Hell No, that leaves just one, Mike, the man of Danni's dreams. Mike is the boy Danni has been head over heels in love with for as long as she or anyone can remember. What Danni doesn't know, hell what everyone doesn't know is Mike has been keeping something from her and the guys for equally as long, scared to ever tell because how could you break bro code... right? I mean when you have a crush on your best friends little sister what do you do loose the friend and keep the girl or loose the girl and keep the best friend. As for Asher, he has always known about his little sister's major crush on his best friend and honestly he knows about his best friends childhood crush as well, seeing as Mike was Danni's first kiss and all. Jackson, on the other hand, is completely clueless to Mike's feelings, And Danni's! But how? it's literally written all over her face when Mike walks into the room. Danni's two oldest brothers, they've always known what Danni was feeling for the boy that grew up across the street. As for Vince, Danni's current boyfriend? He's the distraction from Danni's feelings for Mike, so she doesn't slip up... good job he does right?

<First kiss;>

Danni and Mike were in the Voight's backyard up in Danni's secret hide away, her tree house they were spending the morning together as Asher was still asleep inside and Jackson was still at his home 'deathly ill', he's a bit overdramatic. Danni and Mike had just finished a long debate about Cat-Dog Mike's favorite TV show and they were climbing down the ladder when suddenly Mike fell and scraped his knee. He landed on the grass just under the ladder, holding his knee tight to his chest, "you know D your suppose to kiss me to make it feel better," Mike smirked trying to get Danni to fall for his little trick. "Oh okay," Danni agreed without hesitation as she bent down to his knee and kissed the top of it, but Mike wanted a real kiss in a very different spot, even as a 7 year old, he was a little player. So he told Danni that she had kissed the wrong spot and where she should be placing her kiss, "No D you are suppose to kiss my lips!" Mike smiled innocently and Danni being an extremely innocent little girl leaned over towards Mike's face and kissed him gently on the lips, it was her first kiss I mean obviously as she was only 6 years old, and it was more than everything she could have ever dream of. After a moment they broke apart to see a very pissed off 7-year-old Asher with two clenched fists, smoke coming out of his ears, and eyes that were shooting daggers at Mike. Danni backed away from the boys sheepishly and Asher's fists went for Mike's face. Little Asher was grounded for two weeks after that and this wouldn't be the last time that would happen!

<May I have your blessing Mr. Voight?;>

Mike was 13 at this point making young Danni 12 years old, she had just finished a swim meet and didn't complete one good lap all day, to put it nicely, she was not happy! She felt so annoyed by her failed efforts but more importantly embarrassed because her first kiss and first love was there all day to cheer her on, instead of being with Asher at his Wrestling tournament. But little Danni was so wiped out from the long day of swimming that she fell asleep on the short drive back home. As the three of them arrived back at the Voight's house Mr. Voight told Mike to run along and wait inside as he took his little princess up to her bed to tuck her in. Mike refused to let Mr. Voight carry the sleeping beauty up to her room because he himself wanted to tuck her in. So a young Mike picked up Danni's teeny tiny sleeping body in his arms and carried her all the way up to bed, tucking her in with a sweet kiss on the top of her forehead before saying a soft, "sleep tight angel." After knowing she was safe in bed sound asleep, Mike walked back down the steps into Mr. Voight's home office. "Sir, can I speak with you?" Mike asked as politely as possible, in return receiving an, "of course son!". "Well, Mr. Voight I would like to ask-" Mike was cut off by the young Asher once again, barging in to pay the two a visit, "what exactly is going on in here?" Asher asks and Mike just shakes his head knowing what was coming and continued to explain himself, asking Mr. Voight and Asher, if he could ask Danni on a date. That's right a date! Big brother mode then kicked Asher into overdrive and he threatened Mike's short lived life. Earning Asher another week of grounding again not the last time that would happen to the young angry scamp. But Mr. Voight did, in fact, give his blessing the the little player whom promised never to hurt his baby girl. Not that Mike ever took him up on the warm welcome into his family as Mike was too afraid of how Asher would react.

<Mom's Death and the only one to serve as comfort;>

When Danni was 13 her and her mother were in a devastating car crash. Danni was not badly hurt but her mother was, she was put immediately into a coma and a month later she passed away. Danni's life crumbled around her to say the least, not that Ash, her much older twin bothers, and her father's weren't, it's just a girl needs her mother and Danni was completely lost without her's. In the close to 6 months following the crash, Danni could do nothing but; sleep, eat, and she barely could breath at times. All she did was lock herself in her room and cry day and night. The only person ever able to get her to open up was Mike. Ash and her dad would try every day, the twins even came to her door a million times a day and still radio silence. Then one day not to long after the accident Mike came over to spend the day with Ash, but when he heard what Danni was putting herself through he walked up to her room to try to get her to come out. He ended up being able to walk right into her room, she knew even then she needed him, the first thing he did was give her a big hug, then he sat on her bed with her and let her cry it out on his shoulder, hot wet tears staining his t-shirt. Danni in turn attributed her eventually being able to leave her room and live a semi normal life without her mom, to him being there for her day after day. Now if you think they were close before, they were almost inseparable now. Thats how their little group of friends started Mike, Ash, Danni, and Jordan.
