Falling for the Unexpected

Road Trip!!!

Mike's POV;

Peyton and I started a road trip over the long weekend to meet Dann and Ash in North Carolina. It had been a week since the kiss, D and I's date, and telling Ash but we still hadn't told anybody else at school yet, although I decided today I would tell Peyton. I drove home from school Friday because apparently bi-weeks the second week of high school are a thing? Not! Coach just couldn't find a team that was game to loose to us. Anyways I drove home to grab my bag and then get Peyton, Ash was driving Danni down in Dann's car to their beach house since we have the comfiest cars for the drive. They left straight from school and I wanted some time with Peyton seeing as how I haven't had time for him since being with Dann, not that I'm blaming her in any way. Anyways we are spending Friday to Tuesday at their place since its a long weekend. The drives not too far either it's about 4 hours from Nashville to Charlotte.

Peyton hopped in and we were off, I decided it would be one of our first topics so I got right to the point. "Hey Peyton I know you're kinda protective of Dann but what would you think if I asked her to be my girlfriend?" I questioned to start off I didn't want to get myself into an unwanted fight cuz he's sometimes worse than Ash and Jackson. "Ya I'm protective but that's just cuz I been into her for a long time... Wait ask her to be your what?" He replied but I was ready to kill at 'been into her'! "What? You're into Danni???" I questioned ignoring his question. "You wanna ask Danni to be your what???" He seethed looking at me. I simply rolled my eyes at his aggressiveness and asked again, "You're into Danni??" I growled out not wanting to hear it. "Yes?" He asked calmly like it was a question and like he didn't want me to kill him. "How long?" I growled not liking where this was going. "Since her freshman year, when she started flirting at football.." He trailed off and I was pissed! Danni freaking flirted, with my best friend? "What kind of flirting?" I questioned angrier. "Not a lot or very sexual just the cute harmless kind." He responded immediately. I relaxed a bit harmless flirting I can handle that. "So you think she's into you?" I questioned. "I don't know I thought she was, but lately she seems to have her eye on you, I'll back off if you wanna ask her to be your's man. But if you mess it up I'll be there for her!" He responded slowly and seriously. "Oh, I won't mess it up! Not with Ash and I's friendship on the line... And brother, to be honest, I'm in love with her!" I replied honestly to my other brother from another mother. (Both Ash and Peyton were brothers no questions asked and the felt the same bout me.)

The rest of the ride was uneventful, we stopped once to piss, grab a bite to eat, and switch drivers, but other than that it was a straight shoot. I just wanted to get down to see my girl as soon as possible.

As we arrived at the beach house I hopped out and was greeted with the lovely face of the girl I loved and the lovely face of her older brother. "Hey, guys you made it! Come give me a hug boyfriend I feel like I haven's seen you in days." Danni smiled happily seeing both Peyton and I. She called me her boyfriend and my heart jumped, thats the fist time she said it out loud. I walked over to her side and gave her a hug but no kiss knowing how Ash would feel. "Yup we made it, alive even!" I replied sarcastically back. "So guys how was the trip?" Ash asked slowly, sensing the tension that was still slightly lingering around Peyton and I. "Not bad, a little long." Peyton replied throwing me my bag and grabbing his. "Sorry? Well you two know where your rooms are, so go ahead and unpack then get ready to go to the beach," Ash replies and it's then I realize my girl is in a dangerously hot Bikini. "Oh okay works for me!" Peyton replies and walks in the house pushing between me and D. I ignore his childishness and I take this chance to ask Dann into my room to say a proper hello. "Hey, Dann can I talk to you in my room for a minute?" "Uh, sure!" She says a quick I'll be right back to Ash then walks away with me. "Really in his room? Like thats not obvious, if you take to long I'm coming in!" Ash yelled as we walked into the house. I threw a finger towards his and wrapped my arms around my giggling girl, chuckling a little myself at Ash's empty threat. I know he's happy I'm with D and that the two of us are finally where we're always meant to be.
