Anna turned around just enough to scowl at the police officer who was fastening her hands into the cuffs behind her back.
"Turn around young lady!" the officer snarled in disgust as he jerked Anna's shoulders in the other direction. As he loaded Anna into the car, Anna stepped on his foot, causing his face to redden in anger and he pushed her harshly the rest of the way in.
As they drove up the road, Anna called out, "hey mister, where are you taking me?" Tell me it's Rogerstown Jail, that one's my favorite." She smirked and sat back, silently hoping that she was right. Rogerstown was, in fact, her favorite jail out of the extensive collection that she had been to.
"Young lady, right now I'm taking you home, those were my orders," the officer snapped at her.
As the words sunk in, Anna's heart dropped. She wasn't going to jail, she was going home.
Anna was silent for the rest of the drive. She was so quiet that the officer had to keep looking back to make sure she was still there.
As the patrol car pulled into the driveway of Anna's house, Anna sighed. What was her mom going to think?
