We were in the car once more, this time though I managed to beg him for some different music, and he relented. Avenged sevenfold was blaring out the stereo speakers in the car, and I sang along, with Ben just smiling. Whether it was because of my tuneless singing or he was thinking about earlier I don't know. But I didn't really care, as long as he was happy, I was.
As expected I had no messages from mum, but that wasn't bothering me. I stared out of the window still singing 'A Little Piece of Heaven' at the top of my lungs, watching the streets blur by. I turned up to some of the band meetings previously, after all I helped with their clothing sometimes and decorations and stuff, but I hadn't been in a long, long time. Not since their début album was released earlier this year.
After getting out of the car and making our way into the band’s garage, (Yes they actually practice in a garage,) Ben and I realised we were the first to arrive. As he set up I silently sat down on a stool, looking through the pictures of them on the album releases and public appearances. I'm pretty sure most bands don't keep a huge scrap book of all of those, but apparently this one does. Most of the images I had already seen, on internet or elsewhwere, but this one I hadn't. It looked like one from last year, though Ben had Mellisa written across his right knee, under his tattoo. I was surprised his one was save. Upon seeing that I began to smile. Just thinking about why he would even bother doing that.
Clearly I was smiling enough for it to be really noticeable as Ben walked over to me and looked at the page the book was turned too. I glanced up to see him smiling at me, I took his hand in mine, standing up. Ben let go and threw his tattooed arms around my waist, pulling me against him.
“So, urm I'm sorry about this morning, but god it was good.” Deep voice. Twinkling eyes.
“Sorry, why? You were bloody amazing.” I was probably a little happier about it than hoped.
“Well I'm sorry I did that, made you do that.”
“Made me? I wanted you to..” I trailed off, realising what I was saying. Realising I only just left Dom and less than two days later I'm making out with Ben.
But that was clearly all I needed to say, without a second hesitation he pushed me back against the wall like yesterday morning and this time held my waist, before tilting his head and roughly pushing his lips onto mine, with all the skill from this morning. The kisses getting quicker and quicker, his teeth grazing my lips and neck, his hands becoming more daring as he slip his hand down my neck and across my chest all the while making the kiss more intense.
It was all over as quick as it started when he heard a car door slam outside the closed garage. Moving back he took my hand and kissed it before turning his back on me and shoving his hands in his pockets, I guess hoping that his friends though he was just being casual. It didn't really work.
The garage door slid up and the entourage stepped in. Danny in front, giving me a quick once over before running to give me a hug.
“Oh my, Melissa, I haven't seen you in a year, I've missed you!” Although I was never that close to Danny, he seemed like a nice guy, but wasn't quite the same as Ben, no one was though. Danny was a bit stockier than Ben and stronger too, his hug turning into a death grip before he eventual released me.
Sam, James and Cameron all walked in, gave me a smile and a wave just out of politeness. These guys, especially James, were living legends, but again I didn't know them as well. I only went to school with Ben. We all grouped into a circle, even I was included, and it took only a matter of minutes before millions of questions were sent my way.
“Are you two together now. Finally a couple?”
“No..”
“How come you're here with us again then?”
“I missed you all.” A damn lie, but shh.
“So, what we you and Ben doing in here alone then?”
“Setting up.” Again another lie, well half lie.
And so on, it was only when Ben intervened asking if thy could get on and practice that they stopped the conference.
I returned back to my corner, noticing that every now and then Ben shot cheeky looks to me, and pulled out my large sketch pad. I tied my longish auburn hair into a ribbon, and began to sketch out a couple pictures. I always loved art and tried hard at it, I wasn't actually that bad, gettting an A* in art for GCSE. I began to draw a portrait from imagination as they were my strong points. I put my feet up on a spare amp and got to work.
Something about drawing always relaxed me, I had probably got close to finishing the initial shaping when 'Not The American Average.' was being rehearsed. I loved that song! Really did, stopping drawing I looked over to the band playing, so tempted to sing along but knowing I couldn't. I bit my lip and held my breath as Ben's solo approached. God it was so good. After he finished I sat there waiting as the guitar played a quick riff and the guys all shouted 'Ten inch!' I mean if there is anyway to get back into the metal parts why not go for a line like that hey. I was smiling and Ben clearly saw, he winked to me and I looked away quickly.
2 hours later the band had covered all of their songs several times, made improvements, gotten tighter on their routines and practised their amazing synchronised dancing, because there is nothing better than Ben's head banging. The band grouped together once more and invited me into their circle, again they began small talk and just messing about. I was just glad I have their sense of humour and acted just like them, else I would have been pretty lonely. Danny handed me a bottle of whiskey, Ben's favourite, I took a large drink from it, feeling the roaring burn inside, and handed the bottle to Ben, which he downed to my amazement.
Once the guys were pretty drunk, except Ben and Sam, who would be the drivers, the conversation steered straight on to sex, not that they didn't talk about it before hand, but now they were a lot more open on it. Yet again I was snowed under with questions about who I last slept with, if Ben and I had slept together, if we were going to date, or were and it was a secret. I tried not to answer many of the because it is all personal to me, but the guys, Danny in particular, was more than keen to tell us stories about their own sex lives. And like usual, Ben and Danny pretended to be gay together and informing us on their bedroom activities, that were completely untrue but fun to hear.
We'd probably been in the garage around 5 hours and it was getting towards 4 o'clock when we decided to leave them there. I was hungry, having neither breakfast nor lunch and Ben had decided we were going to grab a bite to eat. We said goodbye, and being the typical boys they wished us a happy sex life and stuff like that before we managed to get into the car.
We pulled into a local KFC, even though I wasn't a huge fan, because I was dying of hunger and it turned out Ben liked it quite a lot. A girl squealed as we walked in, it wasn't hard to tell which girl, since she was the only girl in the place with an Asking Alexandria top on.
“A fucking A” Ben shouted, rocking out to the girl. She nearly fainted. We laughed.
After getting a family bucket, he decided it would be best if we took it home to eat, that way there would be no one looking at us. Agreeing, we drove home quickly, and jumped in the door way, sitting back on the sofa we ate - although Ben was more interested in a chicken leg sword fight - and drank beer.
It was about 5 when we finished and I thumb wrestled with him about who was putting the rubbish away. I lost. The weather was nice and I fancied a trip to the beach. I ran upstairs and picked up a bag, filled it with my beach clothing and by that time Ben was ready, we walked back out of the door.
