Everly's POV

One thing people have to understand is that everything is predictable. Whether it be from a person, or thing. Everything. Is. Predictable.

I've spent 17 years on this damn earth and I'm just now figuring this out.

From the time that I was about 12 years old, I've been oblivious to the hatred and unfairness that the world has to offer, but here I am now.

I've always been a more pessimistic person, not by choice, but it's just easier to expect failure than success. Right when you have your hopes high and your dreams big, someone is going to walk by and trample them.

Now, I'm not saying that the world is a horrible place and everyone should be unhappy, I'm saying that it would be easier if our standards for life were a bit less artificial and a little more realistic.
