"Today we say goodbye to a wonderful mother of one, a caring sister, and a devoted daughter," our priest began and standing over my mother's coffin I just wanted to laugh.
My mom never cared about me that's why she sent me to LaFay School of Witchcraft and Wizardry the home of every rich witch or wizard in America. She was to busy serving her lord as a death eater. As for being a caring sister that was never true, in fact I remember her forcing my spineless uncle into becoming a death eater too. I suppose she was a devoted daughter until she killed my grandparents in order to show her loyalty to you-know-who.
She paid attention to me mind you, but never in the way I wanted her to. I was an asset, another pawn in her strive to become more powerful. Why she would want more power, she was a pureblood our entire family was that meant we were already among the most powerful magical beings. Why would she go through so much and destroy so many lives just to attain some thing she already had.
And now she had let it kill her. The mark on her arm that slithered no more cost her everything and everyone. Indeed no one was mourning her even the world seemed to rejoice over her death for today was a bright and sunny spring day and consequentially all of the plant life was in full bloom and the birds were singing their sweet melodies to one another.
No one was crying for this funeral was the pre-party to the party the will reading would sure produce. Everyone was expecting a payout because her estate was so big and I felt as if I was the only member of my family not excited over their future wealth I was nervous. Today I found out about my fate.

Murmers filled the room as it slowly filled with all of relatives. They were all excited; some of them even so nervous that they were shifting or squrming in thier seats but all movement ceased as the family lawyer entered. Everyone sat up strighter, their giddy expressions were replaced with looks of fake mourning and their eyes followed the will holder like he was the last gazelle on the savannah.
Finally he reached his monsterous desk and opened the folder containing what we all came here to hear. He then cleared his throat and uncertianly glanced up at the hungry expressions of the pride of lions filling his room.
"This is the last will and testement of Mary McBride," he recited glancing around at my now calmer relatives. " Her estate will be.." he trailed off as a blonde man entered the room late and drew all of the eyes to him and thats when the whispers started in ernest. The lawyer banged one of his heavy books on his desk and the entire room refocused on him.
"Thank you," he said, "Mr. Malfoy please do try to be more punctual." He abomished the blonde as he sat back down. " Her estate will be divided as follows. To her dear brother she leaves a third of her estate and her manor house and everything in it that he wants." He started and my uncle got a very self satisfied look on his face while the rest of the room looked nervous because such a large portion of the money had been given away. "Next, to her dear friend Lucious Malfoy I give another third to be given to a charity of your choice." It stated and I almost laugh at the way she phrased it. I and everyone else with half a brain knew that You-Know-Who was not a charity. "And Finally to my daughter, Lily, I give the last thrid of my estate. I place her into the custody of my second benefactor, Lucious Malfoy, for by the end this month she will be married to his son Draco."
