Dogs can be nice pets their loyal and lovable, and they can be defensive to protect their master, say for example a Golden Shepard are family dogs, but the Family is split apart it becomes a really defensive against other people and other dogs. people sometimes give their dogs puppies that their dog gave birth to, so that would a nice way to get a dog. If you get a dog make sure you a good type that reaches out to you says "get me, i'm a good type of dog that you'll like and love!", so if you get that type of dog, your parents would say, "A dog is a big reasonability and requires lots of care to take care of." Dogs are cool but some people like cats better.
