Recap:
Backing away from Chloe, Alek took one last look at her. Then he silently climbed out the window and up onto the roof. Where he started pacing, and he was sure that tonight, it would last until sunrise.
Chloe was confused, her heart rate was getting faster by the second, and her eyes were open and wide. Alek had kissed her, and then whispered that he loved her. But she had been sleeping. He thought she had been at least.
Chloe began to wonder if she loved him, also.
Ch. 2
"Chloe, I told you not to trust him!" Alek yelled at her. Hurt and confusion registered in Chloe's green eyes.
"What? Alek-" She was cut off by someone suddenly grabbing her. A hand clasped over her mouth, and Alek struggled more against the chains that bound him to the wall.
"Nice to see you again, Chloe." A familiar voice rang. Chloe wanted to scream, but Brian's hand covering her mouth prevented any sound from escaping her lips.
"Good girl," Brian cooed. "Don't make a sound. Now, I want you to answer me something." Suddenly Chloe was pushed to the ground as Brian lent down, pressing a shotgun to her temple. Alek's rage was increasing by the moment. If Brian did anything to hurt Chloe...
"I want to know just how many times you'll beg for your life," Brian's cold eyes stared into Chloe's as he asked this. She remained silent, and Brian didn't seem too happy with that. He snarled at her and cocked the handgun.
"Goodbye, my dear Chloe." Chloe braced herself against the bang that was sure to come, along with the pain. But instead, she heard the beeping of her alarm clock.

Chloe awoke with a start, practically jumping out of her skin. Brian? He didn't want to hurt her. He couldn't know...could he? No, it was just a dream. She repeated this to herself as she got into the shower to begin another day.
Outside, Alek had finally stopped his pacing because he could hear Chloe's heart rate go wild. When she got up, she looked shaken, but recovered fairly quickly. It must have just been a bad dream.
When he was sure she was safe, Alek started to run home. He had done a lot of thinking after he had left Chloe's room. He tried to convince himself Chloe had been asleep when he whispered that he loved her, but his instinct told him not to be so sure.
Chloe stood in the shower, letting the water run over her body. It was a soothing feeling, but Chloe was far from being calm. She was still a little messed up from the dream, and to top it all off, she remembered the events from the night before.
Alek kissing her, what he'd said. She got frusturated just thinking about it, trying to tell herself maybe she'd just thought it up in her imagination. Maybe that wasn't what really happened. Yep, she'd been dreaming half awake. That was it.
Stepping out of the shower, Chloe wrapped a towel around her body and walked into her room. It was Friday, last day of school until the weekend. Thank God.
Throwing on some jeans, a shirt and a scarf, Chloe tied her hair back halfway and threw on some makeup before deciding she looked decent enough. Her Mom was sitting at the kitchen island when she walked down the steps.
"Hi Mom, bye Mom." Chloe called out, waving behind her. She got halfway out the door before her mother called back to her. Chloe really wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone.
