Before I continue into this story, perhaps you would like to know the names and particular talents of the 13 Thoth children. This information I didn't acquire until a little bit later on, but it would make it much easier for you, my readers, to follow along if you know their names. These are the 13:
1. Kelsie Ranger, a fifteen-year-old girl from Northern Ireland. She is a expert at robotics, mechanical engineering, and machines in general. She is the oldest of 6 children, and is the big sister to all of the Thoth children. She's quiet, mature, and generally helpful.
2. Samantha Furrows, 14 years old. She's short, a little stocky, but strong and tomboyish. This physical prowess is coupled with an elegant wit and a sharp tongue. Can be sarcastic, but can turn almost anything into a joke. She's unquestionably the team leader. She moved to Britain when she was 7 years old, meaning her accent is colored with a taste of American country.
3. Liam Olberdeen, thirteen years old. He's tall, with shaggy black hair and dark eyes. His eyes seem haunted, and his past is dark and horrifying. He grew up on the streets with an alcoholic father and abusive mother, and probably killed his first victim at the age of 9. He hired himself out as an assassin at age 10, and that's how Mycroft's men found him, when he was trying to kill another victim. He has an innate genius for math and calculations, and is already one of the world's leading rocket scientists.
4. Usagi Takashi, the youngest, at nine years old. She's half-Japanese, and her father died when she was young. Her mother first realized her daughter was special when her oldest daughter gave Usagi her Calculus homework to solve-- and the girl got an A+ on what Usagi did. Usagi misses her family, and can sometimes burst into tears for no reason. She and Kelsie are very close. She is good at math and chemistry.
5. Kayden O'Mallory, sixteen years old, is an almost super-naturally gifted athlete. He's won several Junior Olympic's gold medals, in Feats of Strength, All-Sports Combine, and swimming. He has incredible reflexes and reaction time, and is almost 2 and a half meters tall (about 6 and a half feet for Americans) and weighs about 115 kilos (255 lbs). He is also very skilled with using different types of guns.
6. Meredith Andrews, twelve. She was living all alone with just her mother and had 3 jobs, even though she was underage. Named after the school her mother went to as a child, she is a miniature Sherlock, with a deducing and convincing mind that was honed by trying to convince people to hire her. She used her talents to hunt for money in the streets and keep herself from being ambushed on the streets. She has immense potential, and has stored almost her entire life in her memory.
7. Lyrica Fates, seventeen years old. She was the daughter of two up-and-coming, almost rich-music stars, but they died when their plane crashed. Without relatives to take care of her, Lyrica ran away from the orphanage she was in, taking nothing but a violin and a music book. She has musical and singing talents that are beyond heavenly, and has a large capacity for math and scientific fact. Most of her spare time is spent googling random facts and memorizing them.
8. Angel Brown, fourteen years old. She's a fan of all things to do with solving mysteries, and all but worships Sherlock. She's also in love with Japanese anime and manga, and writes poetry in her spare time. She has an analytical mind, and like Sherlock's brother Mycroft, once she stores something in her head, she never forgets it. She's smart for her age, and has a little brother that may join Thoth when he's a little older.
9. Charlie Hunter, sixteen years old. He's quiet, shy, but intelligent, with a bright smile and active imagination. He's an artist and a writer, and has a clear way of thinking that can easily size up facts then let out a logical solution. He is an avid sports fan, but asthmatic, as well as a synesthete.
10. Erin Rodgers, fifteen years old. Because his parents didn't know if he was going to be a girl or a boy before he was born, he has a name that can be used for either gender. His family is poor, and he works hard so that he can support them one day. He can measure exact distance just by looking at an object, and has incredible spacial awareness and spacial reasoning.
11. Mark Cross, fourteen years old. He is the son of a policeman and a soldier, and has the heart and soul of a fighter. However, he uses this soul to be a video game geek, and has excellent timing and calculation skills. He's good at determining probability and beating unsolvable video game levels.
12. Alexander Hamby, thirteen years old. He's always got a joke ready, but his sarcasm and wit isn't the only thing that's special about him. His martial arts and fighting talents have earned him 3 Tae Kwon Do national gold, 6 Judo national gold, and 4 Kung Fu national gold medals. He is loyal, but mocking.
13. Melody Harper
She's a master martial artist and uncommonly skilled for her age at many different martial arts. Her family used to be rich, but their company failed, so now she's adjusting to not having a lot of money. Her sense of priority when it comes to spending is rather convoluted as an effect.
